Have you ever been bull whipped? Can you tell me about it? i know it takes a lot of skill and space and most Dommes will not do it.

I have, but it was more for show than for anything else. It does require a lot of space, not to mention the skill that one has to attain before they're not taking their own eyeballs out, much less flaying pieces of your skin off.

Being bull-whipped is a very intimidating experience, a very cool experience, but I found it intimidating rather than painful. I'm sure he could have made it painful if he had wanted to, but it was more of an exhibition, so to speak.

If you can find someone with the skills...I'd personally want to see the skills first-hand, before I let someone near me with one...go for it.

having a single tail used on me is my number one favorite bdsm activity and a bull whip was the first kind of single tail i experienced...
a single tail can give a full range of sensations from the cracker popping just 1/2" from the skin and feeling the puff of air to making hamburger meat out of someone...you can cut the skin and not cut a piece of clothing, you can cut the clothing but not the skin...you can leave little pop marks or 5 inch long cuts (like the one that left a scar on my shoulder)...you can also do a technique where the whip is cracked beside the body or limb and the follow thru wraps the body of the whip around you...
my best advice to whip handlers - practice practice practice and find someone who can show you techniques in person...
to whipees...like it was said earlier, whatch them throw the whip first at the very minimum, watch them scene with someone else if possible...trust your instinct...just because someone can make it crack doesn't mean they know the subtle difference between missing and hamburgermeat...which is about an inch...if that...

oh my goodness - yes. Whip slut here, and one who hopes one day to be able to wield one as well.

Argent and I, years ago now, were at a whip seminar given by a very well known and respected gentleman. His prowess with a whip was very well respected in the community and his seminars were always full. Argent was on the front row, I was seated just behind him. no, but i was taught to use one(long story) and i at first wound up ripping out a lot of my hair....no wonder most won't bother to learn. it sucks.

i love to hate the single tail bullwhip. my Daddy actually played around with it with me for a few moments today. So far in our play i have just gotten little pop marks on my butt from it but those are generally the only ones i can see later on since i don't mark too easily (DAMN IT)

i love it and i fear it but i love it.....i can almost always tell when we are doing a scene and he seems to have gotten further away that that is what's coming and there is no escape.

I know it took me about 5 months to get from the first lesson to the point where I was ready to apply my skill to a live target.
The man who taught me had the graduation test of 50 consecutive strokes move a single sheet of TP hanging from a string without tearing it. If you didn't move it with the air even on stroke 50 Start Over, If you tore the paper even on stroke 50 Start Over.

Translating the skill into a scene with the energy flow and timing and all the other things probably took me another 5 months to do well. So you're talking about maybe a year to get good at it. (Of course someone will say they picked one up and started to use it to that level of skill in a week now, LOL)

And before I played with on on live targets I took a stroke on my shoulder blade from a man who by all community standards was a whip master.

Yes I have both privately and during a scene. I like the pain, the different intensities, the relationship, but what is more that I can handle whips and straps better than canes and paddles and I have the chance to take part in an activity which will bring satisfaction and pleasure to a Domme (I have pale skin which marks fairly easily). Not that I'm a serious masochist, mind you. But being whipped (pardon the pun) really hits me in the right places.

i must say i do love the feel, sound, and intensity of a single-tail. For a couple years i would be on the cross for a couple hours at a time while a Master friend of mine held classes and demos with various whips. To this day just the sound of one snapping in the air can turn my knees to jello. On the other hand i will say it is not something to play with if the one welding the whip is not trained to do so. It is something that can bring not just pain but also a lot of harm if used by someone who has no idea what they are doing. But for those lucky enough to have a Master who is knowledgable with a whip...have fun and keep the leather popping.

Yes, but I don't see the attraction that so many others seem to have with it. The pain that results from whip strikes is just maddeningly annoying to me. It doesn't do a thing for me but piss me off.

I adore single tails, but because of space limitations, the longest whip I use is a 4 foot - I use signal whips, bullwhips and snake whips.

The term "bullwhip" brings to mind longer whips, in the 8 foot to 12 foot range. You really have to have a lot of open space (either a living room with soaring ceiling or large backyard with understanding neighbors) to be able to practice and use them regularly. I could definately see getting into the longer whips but I am currently without accomodations to practice regularly - and without that, it wouldn't be worth the investment in such a piece for me.

No matter - I am quite skilled with shorter whips and have had no complaints about their shorter stature :-)
