I would say that your best bet is joining a local group, making friends with ropefreaks, and learning from them.

But I would be super interested in watching videos like this if they existed.

All people I know and have worked with personally.  MorTis was at my wedding, I was a bondage bottom for Midori at a conference, I've enjoyed discourse with Dov and Jimi Tatu is simply amazing and actually complimented ME on my rope work at the first Shibaricon.  I'm a rope freak and will teach anyone serious everything I know...but ya have to be willing to come to me!

Im a very active member of bdsmireland already. We only have one scene group here in Ireland :( There has been group talk several times of members giving demo's on their areas of expertise (including rope bondage) but so far its all talk and no action.

Tks for the links - I will check them out with interest later. (I am already aware of some experts such as Esinem in the UK and also Midori, however hadnt thought she wld offer downloadable training - bt training in person).

I should have qualified, OP...I doubt anything you can get from those people I gave you will result in downloadable training videos but there is great information to be had from those people.  In writing or finding them to go to a seminar they may have in the near future. 

For rope work, a training video will only get you so far.  Rope is a muscle memory function (meaning your muscles just know what to do....think about tying your shoes...do you think about it as you tie or do you just do it?) and the ONLY way to learn is to practice until your hands feel like they will fall off. 

Don't be intimiated by knots.  Good, functional rope bondage (even suspension) results in very few actual knots. (Scott Smith will give you two or three other knots *he's a rescuemedic*)  But a square knot is your best friend in rope bondage, as far as I'm concerned.  Otherwise learn how to create a half and full hitch and a lark's head. (these are NOT knots, by the way).  Those will get you where you want to be in rope bondage and suspension. 

There is a video by "Master Z" on suspension and Scott Smith has a video on bondage also (can be purchased with his book I believe).  **Forewarned...Scott is INTENSE**

Video's probably not, but the online tutorials by Ropemarks are well worth joining RARE for a moth or so.

Those links are good littledove. Another to recommend is Lorelei's bedroombondage.com Yahoo Group. You've to browse thru her site then get access to her Group to get the videos.

Actually a good way to start is to try out some basic rope work yourself. Then try to figure how those body harness, hogties are done. This way, you'll learn faster instead of plain swallowing. You will see the mechanism, how-where crotch rope is going, tightness level, excess rope and methods to "advance". From basic hogtie, to superhogtie, to suspension etc.

I made sure all subs take yoga classes though :)

You're absolutely right that inthe end you can learn bondage only by actually doing it, but simply trying to figure out "how those harnesses" are done is not a good way to start. A good way to start is first to learn about bondage safety and to get instruction - preferably hands on, but if no instructor is available through good online tutorials (as opposed to shitty ones).

Simply picking up a rope and trying to figure out "how those harnesses" are done is a very good way to learn how to tie them in sloppy, wrong way and runs you the risk of serious damage. Please do not underestimate the dangers of rope bondage.

Learning how to tie in sloppy and wrong ways is a step on the path to tying well in correct ways, just like playing shitty guitar is gonna come before playing well. But correcting the slop is of utmost importance, and rope can be dangerous where guitar is generally not. There are many ways to tie someone, and some are more dangerous than others (and some of the simplest are very dangerous if done improperly). Best is to learn in person from someone who's good at it, but if you can't, just be VERY aware of how the rope is interacting with the sub - constriction, bruising, and so forth may be desired at times and avoided at others, but the Dom/me MUST be in control of them to be good. It won't come right away, though, and your sub needs to know that as well.
