subyours -> Learning to be a Dommie (6/6/2007 5:58:36 PM)

I am trying to learn to be a switch.  My normal role is as a sub to My Master.  However, he wants me to learn how to be a Dommie.  Can anyone out there help me?????

Stop pronouncing it as "dommie" or "dommay"

Calling it Dommie almost makes it look like a joke.
If you want to learn to be a Domme, or a Mistress, then go with what feels right. If you are only doing it because he wants you to and you dont feel Dominant, then you may not be able to learn it.

Ask your dom how he learned to be dominant.

Thanks for all the help.  I honestly thought it was Dommie but now realize that it is Mistress or Domme.  Mistress sounds much better to me.

A naturally submissive person, who is suddenly told to be a 'Domme' will likely not instantly become one.  However, there is no reason you couldn't learn to effectively Top at first... and then go from there.

There are many sites on the net, great bdsm books, and many forums threads here that can give you ideas and information.  Communicating with your dominant partner and getting his assistance with some of the physical activities, the physical limitations involved, etc. will help.  Perhaps join a local bdsm group and see if you can locate a FemDom mentor or experienced submissive mentor.  Though, if your dominant wants you to become a Domme/top, then he should help guide you.

I agree Dommie is not the term of choice for most dominant women...  but we are all free to call ourselves anything we wish.

Get hold of "The Mistress Manual" by Mistress Lorelei; good book and deals with the dilemna you find yourself in within the first chapters before going on to provide lots of ideas........ Not sure if its the same Mistress Lorelei we have here on CM who wrote it, and I'm still waiting for all the commissions from the times I recommended it, but its a good one.

There are also loads of great websites out there - some are porn sites for guys, but you can also find some written by ladies who see it from your side, and deal with the same situation - Elise Sutton's website (from memory) might be a good one to start with.
