Hello slaverosebeauty. I’m a corrections officer. I guess that would make my backround congruent with my position in the lifestyle. RL

My questions as it were ~
*What's your background and profession??  Daddy is a psychiatrist; me - legal/computers/music/media/reviewer

*Is your background congruent with your current 'position' within lifestyle [ie an authoritative position at work AND within your lifestyle relationship(s)] or is it the opposite?  we're both in management positions ...He co-runs the office and practice with another Doctor; on the other hand, i'm my own boss since i get to pick the bands/artists i want to review.

For the Top-types ~
*Are you ex/current military? Law Enforcement? Daddy was in the military - Army

*Are you in a more white collar or what most would consider 'less authorative position' at work?  He's in authorative position because He runs the practice and office.

For the bottom-types~
*Are you ex/current military? Law Enforcement? does being an army brat count? i'm a certified paralegal and have worked with a couple of big-named attorneys before.

*Are you in a more 'authoratitive' position at work? yes and no. i pick my own reviews however i'm not one of the bosses who own the radio station.

Master is a teacher for special education
I am a nurse in a busy large cardiac intensive care unit. I am in charge at times. I have to be very assertive and aggressive at times. I do not think a persons profession has anything do with lifestyle preference. Just because one is submissive in the lifestyle does not mean that he/she is all the time in all forms of their life.

Well, I'm a student finishing up a degree, but I'm also a pilot.  I can't help it, but commanding a tin can at over 120 mph through the air thousands of feet off the ground always gives me a feeling of power... or maybe that's just a hard-on...

I've sometimes pondered those same questions. Since it is often said that bottoms are people who are usually in some authoratitive position in their carrier and use their bdsm position to escape, so to speak.

I'm a bottom but I'm not in nor will I ever be in a d/s dynamic other than just the receiver of pain.
I've never been in any sort of military nor law enforcment. I'm a medical student and with each year of school there has been more responsibility put on my shoulders. So in that field my position is somewhat authoritative now but it is increasing with every month and will be so in the end. Last year I worked in a position where I was in control of and managing all autopsies done in the whole country. So yes, in general I would consider myself in an authoritatve position.

The extreme pressure of my work has made me feel "bottomish" at home. When I come home from school or hospital, the last thing I want to do is run my home with inthusiasm. I honestly don't feel like controling other people in my private time and I really want things to just run smoothly with me only influencing it to the barest necessity. A sort of power/responsibility vacation if it makes any sence.

Anyways. I'm looking forward to see more answers.

I am a system's administrator - commander of connectivity!   Yet, undeniably my position is very service oriented. I suppose to some degree we all fit into that category.

Melissa and I are both in the military. I guess you could say that for me, it falls right in with my personality. For her though, it's about as opposite as you can possibly get. She is very submissive, and yet, she is also a Marine. There are times that I have seen her struggle to seperate the two, usually when she has had a really bad day dealing with others.

Science, specifically Physics. I create, setup, teardown and maintain demos. I also teach. All this is at the University level.
I'm staff at work, so I answer to all the professors...but I'm very autonomous. My boss is very hand's off...as long as I get my work done, get it done well and in a timely manner, I can do it as I see fit. So, the answer to this is, "Sort of."

I'm not ex-military. However, I was married Navy for a decade and also worked at a shipyard. So, I've had a dose of it in my life.
I'm borderline. Being a scientist is white collar...working with your hands repairing stuff as a trained technician is blue. However, I'm going back to school, so I'll be even more white collar. LOL I'm in a pseudo position of authority at my day job because what I say about demos goes, yet I ultimately answer to the professors. I'm definately in a position of authority at my night job 'cause I'm the professor.

Confused? LOL it's not all black and white.

Master is an ex-military cop and now is a proessional geek :)  i am a manager at work (retail). altho it is not congruous to my "position" in the lifestyle, ive developed my own management style.....which seems to be a little softer than some of the other managers i work with, but appears to be just as effective.

*What's your background and profession??

this slave's background is filled with what would best be described as 24/7 on-call servant.
this slave has been submitting to others and serving others for the last 40 years, under a variety of "titles", some of which were bought with tuition, time and excellent study skills.
she has many skills and talents---most of which were learned to please whomever  was being served.  some came naturally, others are commemorated with diplomas and even a degree hanging on the office wall with this slave's name on it.

this slave has ONE job, pleasing Master.  it would not please Him for this slave to serve an employer, so she doesn't.

neither

quote:

*Are you in a more 'authoratitive' position at work?

this slave's job (pleasing Master), requires her to surrender ALL authority to Him.  if He delegates temporary authority over any of His posessions to her, she accepts it and "acts" authoratatively with regards to it, until such time as that authority is revoked.

My background is law and Human Resources and I am former military... enlisted rank.  In my profession, I co-manage a $20M per year business and 100 employees.  I'd say that I'm fairly good at what I do even though it's incongruent with my nature.  There's just not a lot of money to be made as a submissive.

Since FirmhandKY is otherwise occupied, I'll answer for him, as well.  He is a former officer in the military and owner of his own company... both in keeping with his dominant nature.

Using quick reply:

My background is nursing. I work per diem and teach nursing. I run an e-bay business as well.

My owner's background is law, he has formed several corporations that do many things, a real estate development division that buys/flips/rents property, drayage/logistics division, professional services-nursing division, professional services-onilne retail division, a leasing company that leases to all the other companies, a newly formed e-book writing/sales divsion and thats all I can keep track of...he is also a Dean in a university criminal justice graduate program. He is semi-retired at this point.

I would say it is pretty congruent with his personality. I'm a little more aggressive in work matters than my personality wants to allow but I'm an RN, I have to be, and I want to earn the maxiumum I can for my owner, so I push much harder when it comes to money stuff.

No military background for him or me.

I'm glad to see stay-at-home slave's weighing on in this as well.

We were talking about that last night, thats kinda how all of this came up. I LOVE being a stay at home mom and would love to do so ideally if possible with my future love/life partner/Master. I was a stay-at-home mom for a year, I was buisy; an I loved it. So staying at home would be great; its part of how I was rasied. I was raised to be a 'lady' to take care of the household, children, cook, clean, etc.

My personal background.. I was a Vision Therapist for years {still do it per dieum, for going on 10 yrs}, optometric assiant & technician, office assistant, nanny, stay-at-home mom, so I have to be know how to balance being 'in charge' with being in service to an extent. I could not go into the military, I did try though.  I think my past has molded me into a stronger slave, I have a mind of my own and at the same time, I can give power and control over to another.

I would slit my wrists rather than have anything to do with law enforcement.

I avoid situations where I am in a supervisory capacity.

I don't like struggling for control of a group

People just tend to defer to me.

I like it that way.

I got started working in professional kitchens at 15 as a dishwasher and fell in love with the food.

8 years later, the noble life of pursuring an art has been replaced with the realities of very low pay for a lot of hours of work, stress, no normal life whatsoever, and bad tempered coked out overweight bastard-chefs.

I worked on the authoritive end for awhile, but quickly got tired of egos, bad attitudes, devoting my entire life to the restaurant and wondering if my saute cook was in jail or coming to work.

Now, I have changed trades and am apprenticing as a butcher to put me threw college with the goal of a degree in Computer Sciene and the good life with a healthy income from computer programming.

I run a vocational training center for teens and adults with disabilities. I make the rules, so i would say, yes it is congruent with my lifestyle position most of the time. I admit to using my "authoritative nature" to keep people in line at times. I do enjoy letting go now and then but only with my partner. It's oh so hard for me to give up control.

Never in the military, but my dad was a cop....
