The rope my master ties me up with [:D] oh and the crop when she uses it. [:)]

I know this is an old topic, but it seems like spending some time and learning some rope bondage and using hemp rope, would be a more vegan way to do things than synthetic non bio-degradable restraints.

staying away from the "what is vegan" debate now starting, and re: use of man-made materials:

not all who are vegan (of whatever level) are environmentalists. some are, some aren't. it's a big group of people.

add that to the resource expenditure issue raised by another, and there's another consideration to it.

regarding wool use: actually, in the large-scale wool industry, there is a lot of harm done to the sheep. small-scale, it's a pretty nice sheep-style life.

regarding veganerotica.com: i'm interested in their wares, i like to get what i can from non-animal sources... but the supply is limited, both at that site & in general. outfitting one's toybox with purely non-animal items is impossible currently if one wants a very wide range of styles, textures, suppleness & elasticity, etc. am looking forward to a growth in options, though.

If you don't eat meat then you are one step lower on the food chain. Some of you vegans look pretty yummie to. [8D]

The bitch about vegan 'leather' is it just doesn't have the same workabilities as real leather. It can't be tooled, the edges can't be burnished, and braided pleather looks like ass. But people insist on copying styles of toys that are made from real leather. If I were going to build pleather toys, I'd start from scratch and come up with completely new designs based on how the materials want to work.

Lucky for me, I like working with real leather. Because I'm not innovative enough to reinvent the wheel.

One last question, If we're not supposed to eat animals, why are they made of meat?

Just teasing. It takes a high level of dedication to live a vegan or even vegetarian lifestyle. I myself only eat one or two servings of meat per day and use mainly leathers from wild animals because I think it's cruel to force critters to live in little cages. I believe it's possible to find a sane happy medium.
