It's hot & muggy here tonight. My feet feel like they are on fire and I'm sitting here sucking down ice water and soaking my feet in my foot spa...and that's filled with ice water too!

What kinds of things do you do to beat the heat? (besides turn on the air...lol)

I find that a state of temporary insanity works best. Pretend you're made of liquid flame and forget that it's hot outside. There's no water in this desert anyway. /qq

Its not hot yet, freakin east coast people. 115 is HOT, July is hot; 80s is nice, I still wear jeans comfortable in the 80s, lol. When it does get hot, swimming, sit under a fan, a/c, go to the movies, go to the malls, hang around the houes naked when no one is home, or find someone to 'hang around' with naked.  Normal stuff. No rolling blackouts are planned so things look good.

I try not to look at the thermometer or listen when the temperature is being announced.  I figure, if I don't know how hot it is, maybe, jes maybe, I can fool myself into thinking it is not that hot! Sounds silly and stupid I know!

Well, first you have to double-team Shaq and try to get him in foul trouble.  If he's not in the game, it's a lot easier.  Dwyane Wade will try hard to tear you to pieces, but if you take away their low-post presence, it's easier to limit Wade's options.

Honestly..... cold food.  Usually raw veggies.  They are very good for you when you consider the high water density, which also helps to keep you hydrated.  I'm not a fruit person, so I stick with celery, carrots, and definitely salad.

Honey, I'm in GA!  Trust Me.  I know what it's like to have to beat the heat.

I actually like to exercise or work in the hottest part of the day.  It feels good to sweat profusely like that....trying to actually stay "cool" just doesn't work.  So after the workout, or some good old fashioned manual labor....a large glass of ice water.  I feel great then.  But hey, I'm a long time desert rat too.

I play water games with my kids.  The dollar store is great for inexpensive ideas for play.  Only today it's 44 here, two days ago it was 90....  So today is coffee, hot chocolate and the fireplace....

I agree, if it is really hot..........95 plus.......then doing something to get sweaty and drinking lots of water is probably the best solution for me. Sitting around is just too miserable. Unless I have the kiddie pool out and full of water!

Fortunately we have central air so its all good.
