Dear LadyPact, Ladies and Gentlemen; I have been keeping my feetie paws running all over the place. My keyboard has missed me. You know when one is inactive, when there is something on the keyboard instead of aside the keyboard in the "To Do Pile." My old HP Printer passed away. So, I got a new HP Printer called a HP Photosmart C7180 "All-in-One." Unfortunately, I have yet to figure out how to connect with it wireless with my HP Laptop Computer with Vista Home Premium. My old PC is old and know it will die of old age one of these days. So, I loaded up the printer onto the old computer and works like a champ. I just wish that HP would put Vista drivers out there instead of having to download from a site on the Web. I digress -- this particular printer was selected for many reasons. Mainly, it is the only printer made that will copy Photo Slides (The old projector slides that were in the 1960's--all the rage when slide shows from a doughnut slide holder and image was on the movie screen). In addition, it has an ability to make copies of pictures from a roll of film. I believe it has to be 35mm film. My father's many pictures can be reborn and perhaps can create a book from his many railroad, interurban, trolley and steam engines. That was his passion and has a photo in a Railroad book. Some pictures are rare as the railroad lines died out completely. For example, the Arlington & Old Dominion Railroad --it stopped running in 1951. Most railroad leaving the area of Washington, DC have historical ties to the past--to include the Civil War. In World War I and II, many of the troops were transported to various training camps/boot camps. It is also a time vampire, to sort through all these old model railroad kits. Most have never been touched since they were bought. Some kits are from the mid 1950's. One kit I believe was 1944. I think I may have to inquire with the gentlemen of Collarme.com to see if any are model railroad buffs as to get an idea as to the value of these wonderful 'to scale' models. No plastic! Mostly wood, tin and lead, in O Gauge. I have been driving my Mum around to her many doctor appointments. She will need a stint put into her leg as blood flow is only 40%. It may be something all of us ladies need to be aware of. Pain in the leg, tired legs, odd feeling in the legs--might not be just from working on them, standing on them and abusing them--it may be congested and or blocked arteries. Doppler is used to find this status of leg circulation. Might want to keep that in mind. Broken veins--veracois veins--even more reason to be alert with leg pain--it may be a clot and or blood flow/circulation issues. I attended a ClubFem-Virginia Chapter gathering at The Crucible in Washington, DC on the 9th of June. I had a lovely time just resting. I wear gloves, so it is often an interest to see if my gloves get soiled when I go through the buffet` line and self serve, then seat myself and eat--all with gloves on. I do seem to have inquiries and impromptu inspections of my vintage gloves. It really is a treat to share vintage gloves with the other ladies. I did manage to help a first timer feel comfortable serving. But, mostly--resting and away from care giving was all I really needed. I will celebrate my 34th year in the Lifestyle this month. Since I do not celebrate my birthday--I celebrate my life in a different way. I hope the weather is kinder. Heat, lack of rain--even the skeeters are holding umbrellas and looking to swim in some water. Little brown ants are also coming into any moisture as possible. Many houses have been invaded by these little pests. Seem to like grease for some reason. The "Domme-Mobile" has had it's fuel sensor replaced and now the Check Engine light is off. I found out that if a Check Engine light blinks--shut it off immediately; if its on all the time--its ok to drive it but, do get it inspected. Now I need to reload the many toy bags into the trunk to be ready for the many events in DC and private parties to come. Being retired--I find myself working a bit harder than when I had a career. No pay raises, sick days and such. Darn! Respectfully submitted with a bit of humor, Lady Hugs
