There seems to be a sudden increase in the number of money mule invitations - at least I am receiving a couple a day now on home and work mail. These invitations enquire whether you would be interested in a job with some classy sounding company, earning a few thousand dollars a week for 2-4 hours work a day in a very senior sounding position. Its a scam. If you dont know what it is and how it works, and the consequences to you of involvement, here is how it goes. What youre doing basically is receiving illegal funds (generated by other scams) and then sending them by Western Union to the person organising the scam. When the police chase it up, as they will eventually, you are the only person they can identify to charge (deception/fraud etc), whilst you find your classy sounding employers have vanished from the face of the earth, to reappear in a new guise a while later to seek more "employees" / "agents" / "executives" etc. You are left to face the music. Dont be sucked in by this one. It can sound very legitimate and the money and hours very tempting. Its made to be that way. E
