NEW YORK - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says history will remember President Bush's foreign policy favorably despite current troubles in Iraq, Iran, North Korea and the Middle East

"History's judgment is rarely the same as today's headlines," she said Friday in an interview with The Associated Press.

Rice said she believed the world was more dangerous before Bush took office in January 2001 than it is now.

*choaks on gatorade* yeah history will rate bush well if he pays someone to write the damn books. No way in fucking hell is bush gonna be remembered well. What for? For Saddam? Not bloody likely. sure as hell not for the handling of the post 9-11 world.  I am sorry but not happening. condi needs to quit kissing Bush's ass and realize the facts. Bush has done squat for this country other that increase the divide be the classes, made gay couples wishing to made a formal commitment feel less than human, thrown up roadblack in the path of medical science and is responsible for the death of thousands of good men and women overseas. And lets not forget made us look like warmongering villians to the rest of the world.

I don't think this is the first time that Condi's judgement is called into question.

Looks like she really is setting up for the 2012 campaign. Does she really think Bush's most ardent supporters would ever vote for a black woman for any office?

How many days until Jan. 20 2009?

Of course they would.

One of the little remembered facts that happened during AnencephalyBoy's first administration was a situation where he was all set to pick a fight with somebody (which country escapes me, but Im thinking China) and the two black people in his administration, Rice, and Powell, talked the rest of the Nitwit-Cons out of doing it.

I read an article last year in Esquire about this, where the person writing it was talking about the fact that black society (whatever that means) tends to heap high praise on the lowest common denominator; gangsta rap, etc, and to ignore the fact that two highly educated black individuals who were in a position to make significant positive changes in the United States Government.

I have a lot of respect for Condi Rice.  A PhD in Political Science.  Former professor of Poli Sci at Stanford.  She is extremely well educated, articulate, reasoning, etc.  While I have issues with her corporate history and find it nauseating that she diligently attempts to shove her nose up AnencephalyBoy's, a man who doesnt have the brains to have a conversation with her, ass, I could see myself voting for her if she runs in 2012.  I imagine she would be far more intelligent, progressive, etc., than Hillary would be.

I would be interested in hearing her clarify her rational behind AnencephalyBoy being rated favorably.  I suspect she doesnt have one and was reading words from a script written by somebody else.

I am indeed sure of it.

Color in the audience? If so, that doesn't have anything to do with whether Bush's "ardent supporters" would vote for a black woman.

Color on the stage? If so, you scarcely had better with the Dems, so?

Ken's post, to me (and correct me if I'm wrong, Ken) seemed to say that ardent Republicans are bigoted white men; well, certainly, some are. As some ardent Democrats are bigoted black men (or women, etc.), meaning that assholes of every sort are to be found wherever you go. Bush certainly is not a bigot, look at his hiring record; most bigots won't be "ardent supporters" of such, as they won't overlook such acceptance of minorities.

And before we paint Republicans with the "party of bigoted old white men" brush, let's remember how much support there was for a possible Colin Powell ticket......

She used to be a Democrat but quit the party when they refused to register black people in the south back in 1972.

Went Republican because they would register black people.

I would not be overly surprised if she switches back.  Not sure how well it would go over; the stench of the current administration and her role in it might not wash out.

I agree, Sinergy, I don't see the Dems being too welcoming of her coming back.

...fair enough Level......mind, i wasn't attempting to draw any parallel between the Democrats and the Republicans on this issue. Just that it seemed to me to be a panel of middle to late aged white men.

It was, Phil, but on both sides, except for Hillary and Obama. Things change, though, if at a slow pace.
