Try the deviant's dictionary which is pretty thorough, in breadth if not depth.

The word for people who are into D/s is "D/s"

Is there a website with standard or at least somewhat accepted definitions of phrases like "Gorean" "Leather" "Old Guard" and other categories of lifestyles? Also, is there a word for those who prefer to live with D/s but very much without S/M?

Thanks. :)

There are tons of websites and you will probably get conflicting views on each one..best to ask those who are speaking about it what thier take on it is , since it differs greatly.
Lots of folks like D/s and not particularly bdsm....we call them sissies! ..er just kidding its simply D/s.

There are no standard's. Just peoples interpetations. So, yes there are plenty of interpetations out there claiming they are doing things the right way. Although, the next site down the road is going to claim the same and have different definitions.

Many trolls will claim they are old guard...especially with a newbie. Easy way to get trust without earning anything. When in reality the person may never gain your trust without claiming to be old guard.
As far as gorean goes, I know very little about the series of fantasy books. Never met a real life gorean although on the net a lot of people claim to live that way.
I'd just love to see one in person.
Leather is the way BDSM used to be defined in WW2 when it was an all gay community. The gays still use the term a lot. Just depending on your click on whether you will hear it a lot or not.
Those who live D/s without S&M, most of us call them D/s.

i think best advice is to read on the boards abit, you'll tend to pick up common usage of terms, uncommon usuage of terms, and usuage for terms that no body has a clue what they mean Good thing is though, you'll be able to understand a whole lof of different meanings. Stick around, read alot and you'll eventually be able to come up with something that you are comfortable with that the general group hopefully understands. Even though alot of ppl hate to admit it, there is alot of common ground with the words used. i have noticed there are different "groups" that come to the boards. Generally within each group there is a commonly accepted idea or feel for the way things and words go. Just stick around and listen. Its pretty easy to pick things up
