I used to vend a lot at conventions and also do some demos. Because of the theft I experienced by packing things in my luggage, I always took my expensive toys in my carry on (I still do). That weekend I was doing an electroplay demo and my carry on was full of stuff including some stainless steel dildoes and butt plugs. I knew I would be questioned becuase of the nature of the equipment I was carrying, lots of wires and tens units including an erotek big box ensured that. I'd been stopped every time but had no troubles as I was very open about what it was and what I was doing with it. However it has always been handled quietly and discretely. While waiting in line that day I could tell the security screeners were having a good time. Lots of laughter and telling each other stories about things they'd found in people's carry-ons. Needless to day this very short woman had to open my bag after it went through the xray machine. She smiled, it was kind of a nasty smile, she looked over her shoulders at her buddies, and pulled out the stainless steel dildo. She held it up high in the air, right in front of my face and said "What is this for?". She plainly knew what it is and I really felt like she was trying to embarrass me and her buddies stiffled giggles. But she picked the wrong person. I smiled right back and said very loudly, "It's a stainless steel dildo adapted for erotic sex play." The people in line behind me choked. I smiled. The security lady froze speechless and then blushed, her buddies all started to helplessly gigle out loud but instead of look at me for my reaction, now they were giggling at her. She gamely pulled out the next thing her hand grabbed, held it up in front of my face. It was a steel butt plug and asked me what that was. I said even louder, "It's a stainless steel butt plug adapted for erotic electrical sex play, and the other things in there are for that too. (my voice now got louder) I sell sex toys for a living, here let me show you the new one, it's really cool! Do you want to feel it" She quickly stuffed everything bag into my bag as her buddies were laughing hysterically at her by now, and told me to please go to my gate. I saw the supervisor heading her way as I passed by him. I hope she got a thorough dressing down. I did write a letter to the airline complaining about her behavior. (not about searching me, they should have done that, but her behaviour was atrocious) Glad they wear name tags! I hope she learned a lesson about trying to embarrass people. I'm not at all embarrassed by what I do. If I were I wouldn't do it. I also don't have to be private about these things. But some people do need that privacy. The paying customers (including airline customers) should be treated with respect.
