My room never feels cooled by the ac, unless I put the thermo stat to clear to fridgid. and I really don't think it's fair, because it's so fucking miserable in here, and every one else is like turn the ac off it's been on long enough the house is like an icebox, and I'm like not in here it's not.

I have two strips of plugs, I do realize that's  some of it, but even if I had everything off all day, it's still fucking hot.

Feline,
Maybe your room is furthest from the A/C unit. Try partially closing some of the vents in the rooms that seem to be coldest. That should help channel more cool air to your room.

There could be a few causes of this. You need to balance the airflow from the vents. As was suggested find the rooms that are too cold and damper (close) them a little. Most (not all) duct vents have dampers. If yours do not then I would invest in some. Also check the damper to the vent in your room, if it is partially closed, open it.

Also, do you tend to keep your door closed all the time? It is possible that you do not have "return" ducts in your room and therefore the air will just not flow the way it should. If there is a gap under your door, it might not be enough to let the return air flow back to the indoor unit. This is a very common problem. To find out, leave your door open about a foot at all times. If this cures the problem then I would either put a return air grill in your door or you can cut 2" off of the bottom of the door and that may be enough.

The other possible cause is that some ductwork has become detached. This happens more in mobile homes but I have seen it happen in regular homes. If the other suggestions do not work contact a local HVAC professional and have them look at the system.

Gauge I do keep my door closed all the time, but when airs on or I need the connection to the rest of the house I keep the door open. I'll try  the closing the other vents a bit more, maybe it will help.  The airs been on for about like 2 hours now, and it finally does feel a bit decent in here, but I worry about running the ac to much. I don't want to raise the eletric bill, or which bill that is.

if your room is relativly small and you got the computer in it, then tada, your typing on a space heater which is affecting your entire room, AC aint gonna help you.

If you have a fan you can set it at the entrance of your door, allowing it to pull the cooler air from the rest of the house into your room. In fact I keep about three fans going plus two ceiling fans to keep the air circulating... it lowers energy use and also feels nicer.

rum, it's about a normal size room, however I've been gone all day no tv on no pc on and it's still bloody misreable in here, but that again could be because of the power supply for my phone and my speakers.

Julia, yeah, the fans don't really seem to help at night, I open the window and try to suck out some of the hot air. I mean sometimes it does, plus mines loud as hell, but I think it'd help more if one was in the doorway encouraging circulation. Last summer I had a fan on a stand positioned right at the foot of my bed to blow on me, yeah it was niiice, I had one on my table too, though the fan on all night gave me sore throats , it was worth it.
