I have been a slave to my wonderful Master, Dragon, for about 3 1/2 years.  Almost a year ago i was diagnosed with Firbromyalgia.  I was wondering if there are others out there with Fibroymyalgia, and how do you cope with it in the lifestyle?  I have been unable to do some of the things that I really enjoyed lately because of it.  My Master is very concerned about my health, to the point that if I am in a flare, dont have my meds, or in worse than normal pain, we dont play.  He knows that I drop hard after a session and doesnt want to make it worse for me.  The problem is that that I need these sessions.  i miss them terribly...

I don't have Fibro, but live with Lupus instead so believe I can understand some of what you are dealing with.

Quite simply my Master accepts who I am, all of who I am, including the all too human limitations. There are days I'm bed bound, flares can be horrible and like you I miss the scenes when it gets that bad. But at the same time I'm reminded just how much he loves and cares for me.

You see no matter how badly I want to serve him at that time, and can't, or how much I feel as though I'm letting him down, he never fails to remind me that it is part of his duty to protect me. Even from myself.

Yes, I understand what you are saying.  My Master has the same view.

I'm currently bed-bound with a full fledged flare up. So pls excuse any mistypings :) I try to not post during times like this lol.
All you can really do, is come to terms with the fact that you cannot do all that you used to do, or wish to do. I so understand missing and needing physical sessions. I wish too that I had an answer.
One thing I learnt is that the more I push/try to force my body into cooperating the worse it is. Oy I worry that none of this makes sense.
I am not my body. My body has become the enemy of all that I was and all that I want to be.
So I have to find ways around it. It is always a struggle but the times where it is good? It is oh so so good.
Fibro
Lupus
TMJ
Insomnia
Osteo Arthritis

I am not a slave, nor submissive-- however, I do have lupus and fibro as a side effect.  It sounds as tho you have a caring Master.  I always show compassion for true medical issues..........  one's health should never be taken for granted nor abused.

When I flare, I don't have the energy, strength, nor desire to be anyone's Domme-- I just want to sleep and rest.  I have had some very selfish slaves/submissives in the past that just couldn't understand that at all.

Greetings DragonNphoenix,

I am sorry to hear about your condition. Fortunately, I do not suffer from this, but I have a very good friend that does.

She, too, is "in the lifestyle" and was becoming rather frustrated at missing it more and more.

Her Dominant came up with a solution that I thought was rather creative: he relives particularly good memories of theirs entirely in their mind's eye. In effect, he "talks" her through a scene. He tries very hard to evoke the memories of that scene by re-creating the scents and sounds as best he can. While he is talking to her, he also touches her in ways that also heighten and help recall the memory.

My friend was quite surprised at how vividly she could remember some of these previous scenes when "coached" in this way.

Good luck to you,

-DarkDreams

I'm not a sub/slave....but I do have fibro. Was diagnosed with it almost 20 years ago. It gets aggravating to say the least and the older I get the worst it gets. Pain gets so bad at time I feel like just curling in a corner somewhere and dying. But you can't let it get to you. Try meditating if you can. The more relaxed you are, the better you'll be able to deal with it. Even without this disease...there's gonna be a point in peoples lives where they simply aren't gonna be able to do as they used to. It's life hun. Your fotunate to have a loving, understanding master to help you through the hard times. Treasure it.

I have had fibromyalgia for several years now. Last winter (2006) it got so bad I was almost totally disabled from it.  I couldnt stand up straight any more, and I was in so much pain.  Serving my Master at the time became almost impossible.  He was understanding about it, but it was so disappointing for both of us, especially since we had a long distance rela and only got together for long weekends every couple of months.

Mercifully, I discovered some holistic supplements and a juice that has healed over 60% of my symptoms so far.  I havent taken ANY pharmaceutical drugs for about a year now - NO muscle relaxers, NO anti-inflammatory drugs, NO pain pills.  I am in the process of regaining my muscle strength, flexibility, range of motion, etc.  I had become quite weak.

I have more energy, and more sexual energy LOL  I can sleep much better, I can hold position much longer, and before I was released, I was much better at serving and pleasing my former Master.  I know how devastating this disease can be.  I am more than glad to share what is working for me and to offer any support I can.  My entire life has changed and Im willing to share and chat with anyone.  Feel free to email me here.

I was just put on SSI for bi-polar and fibromyalgia.  Right now, I am not on any medical insurance, so am unable to see a Dr or get my rx's for my bi-polar and fibro.  Right now...I dont know if it will ever get better.

I suffer with endometriosis which can cause a lot of problems... luckily for me I have recently had laser surgery & life is far more "normal" but in a few years things will be incredibly painful again and any action will be hard to bare.

My heart goes out to you... living with any condition is tough.

I am lucky as my man knew about my condition before we ever had a relationship so he is so understanding, patient and accomidating. Having a partner/master/dom like that will take you far.

Hugs for you
