MasterJess -> Having looked around... (6/4/2005 6:53:57 PM)

Are there any other Goreans on this site? Very few of the slaves seem trained to even the lowest of kajira standards. Am I on the wrong site?

Could be.

DesertRat -> RE: Having looked around... (6/4/2005 7:26:53 PM)

It seems to me that there are many submissives and slaves here with 'Gorean Slave/Kajira' marked on their profiles. And many 'Gorean Masters', too. As for their training? Well, who can say without actually getting to know them? Some "fully trained" kajirae may turn out to be resistant to training, and some Masters might not be good at dealing with that. I think I would prefer to find someone with the interest and desire and train her right from the start. A clean slate, so to speak.

Malkinius -> RE: Having looked around... (6/6/2005 2:55:58 AM)

Greetings Jesse....

The others pretty well summed it up. Most of the people with Gorean Master or kajira in their profiles have little clue about what it really means. The doms consider it a cool way to pick up compliant fresh meat and the subs think it sounds so romantic to put it into their profile. A few of us show up in the message board from time to time and even in #Gorean or elsewhere from time to time. Unless you know them elsewhere, and/or offline or know someone who does, don't assume anyone online is Gorean. The probibility is that they are not.

Be well....

Talked a good game, but couldn't deliver. I think I would prefer to find someone with the interest and desire and train her right from the start. A clean slate, so to speak.

Okay Bob, there have been so many public references to your "former slave" and the way you were signing your posts (Bob (not Bobcat), stuff like that) that I would like to ask you, as someone who was quite fond of your "former slave" (who is no longer on the site as far as I know) what happened? Your posts all have a slightly nasty edge to them when you talk about her.

In regards to her considering herself a "fully-trained kajira"; I remember her asking many many questions, starting at least two threads that I remember asking about Gorean slaves because she wanted to learn. She never misrepresented herself in that way. You are implying that she did.

"Resistant to training"???? For G-d's sake Bob, she was 19 years old! She also happened to live in the UK and you are where, New Mexico??? Before anyone flames me on my comment about her being 19, well, I remember myself at 19... spreading my wings because I was out of the nest and wanting to experience as many new things as I could (in a general sense you perverts! LOL). Being "trained" as anything but what I was in college for would have been something I would have been really resistant to, if I had even known was BDSM was then. How many times did you two actually meet? I know before her profile disappeared from the site she had lovely pictures of the two of you together.

Bob, I'm not trying to flame you. I've enjoyed your posts, your kitties are adorable, and I love the last sentence of your profile! [:)] But I don't think you are being fair to your "former slave". She's not here to defend herself, so why refer to her so often, unless you are missing her terribly? And if you do miss her, I don't think it's "un-Domly" to say so. I just don't think trashing her is very nice, or even "Domly" for that matter.

My comments weren't unfair, but they didn't really need to be said publicly. I was working through something rather hurtful. I have edited the post. Thank you for noticing and caring enough to point out what an ass I've been.

Well, an ass perhaps [:D] but a real man for having the humility to accept what other "Doms" on here might have interpreted as a flame.

As for the hurt, it'll go away in time!

You're a good guy I think. [:)]

Leonidas -> RE: Having looked around... (6/6/2005 10:48:28 PM)

Tal Jesse,

There are some, but just like any other "BDSM" site that you're likely to run across online, the Goreans here make up a small fraction. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that the vast majority of the "Gorean" sites online have more to do with chatroom based role-play than anything else. I run the Gorean chatroom here. It's a lifestyle room. No role-playing. Many who frequent there either have met in person or will soon. Be advised though that not everyone who frequents there considers themselves Gorean. Some are simply curious, or just like hanging out with us.

The disconnect that you are seeing with folks designating "Gorean" as an interest in their profiles may have to do with the way that "Gorean" is described here. It just says that it's male dom, and high protocol. That description could appeal to many folks who really don't know much about Goreans, but check it as an interest anyway just because it sounds like something that would interest them.

I have entertained men and women that I have met through collarme in my home, and will likely continue to do so on a regular basis. Where I live (Southern California) there seem to be a good number of men and women from here who are at the very least strongly interested in our ways.

I wish you well.

Please pardon my ignorance; what is a "red silk" kajira? Is that like degrees of belts in karate?

greetings cellogrrl....

It is an online thing. In general it means that they have learned whatever their teacher wants to teach them and they are now open for cybersex. In the books, it was a reference to slaves who were no longer virgins. The virgins were called white silks. Any usage, other than the color of cloth worn, is from online play. I once knew the woman who created it to keep track of where online slaves were in their training with her, and it spread. In the books, slaves wore all sorts of colors of "silks" from gray to brown to yellow to red to white to colorful flower prints. (Read Witness, it is in there.)

The big problem is that when someone speaks as if they were an online player, you don't know if when they say their Master "died" it is literal or they just "died" online in some cyber duel or assination. There have been a few offline Goreans I know of who have actually died, so I don't want to say that is not what happened to her. It is just the rest of it that makes you question.

be well...

Malkinius

cellogrrlMK -> RE: Having looked around... (6/7/2005 3:53:23 PM)

Thanks for the explanation Malkinius. [:)]

DesertRat -> RE: Having looked around... (6/7/2005 7:17:02 PM)

Greetings, Malkinius. Thanks from me, too. I was familiar with the 'red silk' term from the books, but didn't understand it as any kind of special designation aside from being a non-virgin.

Be well.................................Bob (DesertRat)

Davesgirl -> RE: Having looked around... (6/9/2005 10:30:06 AM)

Greetings all....

Just a side note, its not solely online that people use the silk colors. I've seen it in RL as well. There are those, albeit few an far between, that truely practise and excersize a Gorean way of life, right down to having their slaves wear silks.

NOt intending to be rude or enflamin, just wanted to toss my tid bit in.

Be well all

Laughs
Yea to some it is..in the books it simply meant a girl had sex before.Which makes it even funnier when you see a girl who is newly a "white silk slave of her master"..wondering what awesome powers the guy holds to turn her into a virgin.
I personally train girls to the ultimate high rank of fushia silk..um did I spell that right?
heh

Oh hell, well perhaps I will make them spell it incorrectly to attain this rank.

cellogrrlMK -> RE: Having looked around... (6/10/2005 9:07:38 AM)

Make them spell "heliotrope" and describe it!

I don't think that's right either.
