Yeah...this guy and I had met a few times and were casual.  He gave me the paddle then shared he was married.  It ended there but that doesn't negate the heart and time that went into the paddle. (By the way, he was a high school woodshop teacher)

Cool he's making stuff for you! I have a full comp woodshop and the only things I can make that come to mind are a spreader and paddles? Of course I haven't spent much time thinking about things to make....gotta find a lady first! lol......

Any ideas what a guy could make in the ole shop....if and when it's needed????

1. A poem.  It was so beautful it almost brought me to tears. 

2. A letter saying thank you for all I did for him.  (tears again)

3. half a dollar bill.  (it had an inside meaning)

Funny how the gifts I remember, the ones that really matter to me didn't cost money.

Status: offline 		I received a beautifully crafted bespoke red & black leather ball weight parachute from My Tv maid jane on Monday. I admired it when we attended a fetish fair 2 weeks ago, I had shopped that much I forgot to purchase it on My rounds lol.

jane presented it to Me this Monday, I was thrilled when I opened the box, and shrieked with delight.

Thoughtful, useful gifts are wonderful!

What a good girl is she

Status: offline 		From a sub, as a greeting gift, I received a lovely little crop in the shape of a red leather hand on a nice whippy handle that doubles as a soft cane. I loved it. Still do. Don't think he liked it so much when I used it on his arse though ... he was a wimp LOL!

However, aside from that which I think addressed the OPs question, the best gifts have been those which are well thought out and meaningful. And many haven't cost much at all, it's the thoughtfulness and kindness and consideration that make them special.

But I'm with LadyHeart, a single red rose will go a long way with Me too! On the other hand, so will a teddy bear!

Be that a bunch of my favourite flowers, my favourite cream cake, a poem either written for me or that reminds my sub of me, a dinner cooked for me, an fetish item / toy / shoes that my sub knows I would enjoy having... the list is endless. The best gift of all is the unexpected one....

Status: offline 		I've had a few wonderful gifts, not all from subs, but I don't think you need it to be in that context for the point to get across. A friend gave me 6 decks of playing cards for a birthday. Half of them had chinese writing on them. (I collect decks and am a Foreign Language major in university, so it was the one that stood out the most from the other gifts I received.)
From my current sub, the best gift was playing a game of Fluxx Espanol with me. He knows no Spanish, but he knows I love it, so he was willing to play with me just to make me happy. Also, in scene he held himself to me and expressed his love and devotion to me. It was an emotional moment more than anything else and was in no way related to the scene but he felt so strongly he broke out of scene to do it.

In general, I concur with most of the others. I don't agree about the first meeting gift though. Be unconventional. That is what makes someone new stand out in my mind. Get her something that will spark conversation or show her a piece of you. Anyone can get candles and flowers. It takes someone strong to put thought into a gift for someone you've never met and show yourself so early on.

queening bench - not to bulky and maybe even able to be broken down for portability.  Trampling ramp and board.  Spanking bench. Trampling balance frame/bar.  toy box.  portable suspension frame for shibari......so many things I can think of.....;-)

The best gift ever is my daughter (due in March).  No toys, holidays or other stuff in the world could fill the gaping hole in my soul that longed to be a mother.  And I tried my hardest to be a happy "swinging single, childless and free" Mistress, believe me!

At 40, my dream of having a family of my own to love was looking pretty impossible.  I was sooo jealous of all you Dommes with husbands and children!

Then I met my sub.  He knew from the outset that commitment and kids (god willing) was really important to me.  I think I broke the news to him on our first date and told him "if that's a problem, don't call me, OK?"

Most men would run for the hills hearing that (and frankly, they did!  I had been single for over a year).  But Super-Sub wasn't scared off that easily!!!   He rang....and visited ....and swept me off my feet

There really is someone for everyone, but it sure can take a while!

Status: offline 		Knowing that we were having some stress in our lives, a sub friend of mine sent my "sister" and I away for a weekend -- with only his credit card -- to a beautiful resort complete with spa treatments, lovely meals, a cocktail party with friends, and a fully-charged Starbucks card!  He made all of the arrangements, including having our favorite flowers delivered to the suite over the weekend.

Status: offline 		The best gift ever from a sub was, her traveling from Vancover Island BC to Iowa via bus, getting a hotel room close to where I work, then walking over here to my office with a bouquet of daisys. She entrusted herself to me, without ever having met, to go to my farm for the rest of the week.

While the M/s part didn't work, we remain very good friends. I love her dearly and wish she would get her shit together.

Status: offline 		One of my favourite gifts I received only recently from my alpha sub toriko. My gift was his constant presence for two whole weeks over the holiday season; normally he can only spend a day or two each week. Seeing as I had only recently been released from the hospital ICU a few weeks before and was still in a fair bit of pain; it was a wonderful gift that allowed me to enjoy the holidays -- as I had not been feeling in a particularly celebratory mood.

toriko helped take me shopping, ran errands with me, took me to visit friends, tidied up the house, and generally fussed over me in the sweetest of ways. And of course, every night he slept on his mat on the floor at the foot of my bed and brought me fresh tea, toasted english muffins and fruit every morning when I woke.

This same sweet submissive also got me one of my other favourite gifts almost a year ago; a stunning red leather corset that I had been eyeing for quite some time. It is extremely comfortable and I never fail to receive compliments every time I wear it to events. I think of him every time I put it on...

Sometimes a wonderful gift can simply be something thoughtful in terms of time or energy, but it can also be something more material but with it's own special meaning for someone.

Status: offline 		Prior to any meeting I've had several in-depth conversations both online and on the phone with a submissive. During this time I would expect them to be listening intently. If they are doing that then finding a small gesture of appreciation for a first meeting should not be difficult. It's all about listening. And yes, I've been swayed before because of a sub listening and showing that during a meeting. A simple wooden hairbrush. A rosebud with the thorns still intact. Long tapered candles. Any of these items were picked up from conversations had during the "get to know ya" phase before the first meeting.
