Hi,I managed to pick up two spammers recently,one today and one a couple of days ago in my messages box.Messages mentioning Ghana,Nigeria,tales of such woe etc.I reported them as spam.

A question for all of you out there,Does anyone else get spam,what sort of frequency,and what do you do about it,ignore,delete or report?

With this spam reference is made to profiles,I was wondering is there something in a profile that attracts a spammer,or is it just random,any ideas?

I use to get a LOT of spam, I think most of those people have either left or afraid of me now, lol. I also foudn that in my private email account si get some, I mar them as SPAM and I forward them to the gov, a special email has been set up so they can find the creeps and prosecute or whatever they are doing with them. Every time you report SPAM it does help.

I also have my 'bulk' filters set up so that sorta junk goes in there, I also look up EVERY name BEFORE I open the email [exculding friends], it takes a few minutes, but, it has saved me a LOT of time.

I get more spam in IM's and myspace profile, then in regular email.  lol.

I got one today.  Not spam as in the 'send money' type of spam, although it might lead to that.

African-American female, 25, 5'0", 50 lbs. (that's the giveaway right there), Dominant.  The profile is missing a few words that are included in the letter.  But the email is almost exactly the profile with just those few additions.

You don't get too many female spammers.  I'm thinking about replying just to perpetuate the travesty.  Two can play at that game.

Believe me, the fun you can have with these not-so-good-Engrish-speaking Nigerian scammers is priceless.

I had weeks of entertainment writing letters to a Nigerian romance scammer, telling him my real name was Imma Dildoe. I told him to call a phone number and sing a romantic song about Imma Dilldoe before I would believe he truly loved me so I could pay for his ailing mother's hospitalization and his ticket to America.  He also had to say that he would venerate and respect my father, Ron Jeremy Dilldoe, and my dear departed uncle Dick Dilldoe. 

Oh, it was hilarious.  I highly recommend this entertaining diversion if you have the time to burn on it.

i don't get spam here but mostly on yahoo IM or on myspace from Nigerian men all of them promising me a whirlwind romance, diamond ring and marriage

Well done,and a good idea,perhaps if people including myself did that to these people,it might just,might just give spamming from a spammers point of view a realisation that spamming does not work.

I understand they are just chancers trying their luck annoying though it may be,but mores the pity on the poor person perhaps not informed who gets suckered by them.

I've got two today on this site.  Today was the first time I have ever got two in one day here.  One was from a Nigerian, and one was from a guy claiming to be in New York and offering employment.  I often wonder who is out there falling for these scams.  They must occasionally find a sucker, or they wouldn't be doing this.  Of course it doesn't surprise me.  Every year in my local news I read about a few people falling for the old "we have extra asphalt or building materials from a job down the street and will do your home for a big discount" scam.

woohoo -  i received my first spammer  *jumps for joy*  now can someone explain how a 40yr old who weighs only 43lbs living in Alabama, Alabama look for a wife to care for his "son" on this site?
