It sounds to me like he wants to play, but doesn't want to emotional involvement or commitment.
If you want to play without getting emotionally vulnerable with him, go for it as he's younger, it should be fun; but if you want more than that, I think he is telling you he's not open and so you will be risking an emotional fall (at the end of which you'll have nothing to say because he told you already he doesn't want more). So stay if you can handle it. Good luck, M
