frankly i do not think so. how can a guy who is being humiliated and enjoying it suddenly turnaround and the next instant become a Dom. ipersonaaly do not think this is possible

i agree there are lots of times when this happens and the peoiple feel at home and its not so unusual. its all in the mind

Then it isn't possible for you. But since there are lots of men, and women, out there who enjoy being topped by one partner and prefer to top with another, it is very possible for them. And some people can switch with the same partner. Are you really calling all of them fakes?

I can't talk about humiliation and why people enjoy it, because personally I don't like it at all.

However think about this, suppose your feet hurt and your partner massages them, does that make you submissive because you are on the receiving end of the massage? Or dominant because they are serving you?

And what about if you enjoy getting the bottoms of your feet heavily massaged with a wooden dowel? Are you then an automatic submissive? Where's the line between a massage and bastinado except for the strength of the sensation?

What if you enjoy endorphin release? Automatically submissive? And if so, then does mean that the dom who turns you on is actually a secret sub because he loves running five miles a day which releases some heavy duty endorphins.

It is definitely possible. For some, they are just naturally switchy. They like to submit one day and maybe have a mood to be more dominant the next. Others are submissive to certain people and dominant with certain people. I see it all the time so yes, it's definitely possible.

What if we call them switches? Yes, i know - labels are no good. Which is why this question, like so many others on the boards, is unanswerable.

yes it can - my secondary Dom is actually a switch ...there are some days when he enjoys being dommed however whatever he gets from me i bettter be prepared to receive the same in return.

Sure it is possible that is why thiere are switches. For me personally i could not turn around and be a Domme it is just not in me. For others it is just they way they are.

From personal experience, yes it is possible for a guy to be submissive and then realize the inherent Dom tendancies laying dormant within. I'm going through this myself. Most of my adult life I honestly believed I was totally submissive and yet it took exxperiecing life as a 24/7 slave to bring out the Dom qualities I unknownly had.
For sake of self labelling myself, I classify myself as a submissive switch. I will still be submissive and sometimes I will be more dominant.

Taking your question on face value, I do not think that anyone who is submissive or slave can suddenly, if my magic, turn into a dominant.

Many of us in this scene have a variety of interests and needs. Some start out as submissives, and then by transformation, end up being dominant. However, I have not heard of anyone going in the reverse direction. If so, I would really love to hear from them.

Maybe you are confusing subs with switches. There are those who are able to integrate both dominant and submissive role play into their psyche, and therefore, their role play. I call it role play, because I have no idea where the desire to be in both or either roles originates from.

Speaking for myself, there is a duality within me, but I do lean heavily toward the submissive side. So, even though I have sucessfully played the role of a dominant, it is in no way who I really am. Notice that I said played, because I view it as play acting. Other switches may be able to turn the selector from dom/domme to sub in a matter of a few seconds or minutes; but for me, and because my mindset is either one or the other, I cannot change my mood or mindset that quickly, nor do I have a desire to.

A switch is a very rere individual, and often they are misunderstood and shunned by the BDSM community. However, I personally believe that is room for everyone here, regardless of their orientation, preference, or personal history.

There are some excellent posts in this thread. Good question. Im attempting it myself at the moment. And there is a lot of guts and courage involved.
Im presuming, that i would either have top or bottom energy toward someone. That is how it has always been, and i dont see why that would change. I am aware that the way i come accross, is top. And that will probably preclude a few opportunities perhaps? But, im going slowly.
I have been a submissive. But like Addicted mentioned, i began to feel like i was playing it. But could not quite cut it. But i did my best, and boy, what a relationship. I learned loads.

Sometimes I wonder about this for myself. I switch from time to time with my husband, but I identify as a submissive. I pretty much just switch for my husband's sake. My dominant side surfaces infrequently and it just doesn't feel as natural as my submissive side does.
