Every night in my dreams
I see you. I feel you.
That is how I know you go on.

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on.

kisshou -> RE: Word Up (6/18/2005 9:04:47 PM)

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire

Gawd I hate the Doors. So to get that taste out of my mouth.....I sing "Dance with Me" by Orleans

Dance with me, I want to be your partner
Can't you see the music is just starting?
Night is falling, and I am calling
Dance with me

Fantasy could never be so giving
I feel free, I hope that you are willing
Pick your feet up, and kick your feet up
Dance with me

Let it lift you off the ground
Starry eyes, and love is all around
I can take you where you want to go

Dance with me, I want to be your partner
Can't you see the music is just starting?
Night is falling, and I am calling
Dance with me

[ break ]

Let it lift you off the ground
Starry eyes, and love is all around
I can take you where you want to go

Fantasy could never be so giving
I feel free, I hope that you are willing
To pick your feet up, kick your feet up
And dance with me

Dance with me, I want to be your partner
Can't you see the music is just starting?
Night is falling, and I am calling
Dance with me

Dance with me

Dance with me

Shhhh, here come monkeys.

kisshou -> RE: Word Up (6/19/2005 2:56:20 PM)

What would you think if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key.

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends

sanita -> RE: Word Up (6/19/2005 7:19:25 PM)

I want somebody who cares for me passionately
With every thought,
and with every breath.
Someone who'll help me see things in a different light.
All the things I detest,
I will almost like.
I don't want to be tied
to anyone's strings
I'm carefully trying to steer clear of those things

I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung, wanna pull out your tongue
'Cause you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh baby, I wanna get wit'cha
And take your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But with that butt you got makes me feel so horny
Ooh, Rump-o'-smooth-skin
You say you wanna get in my Benz?
Well, use me, use me
'Cause you ain't that average groupy
I've seen them dancin'
The hell with romancin'
She's sweat, wet,
Got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette
I'm tired of magazines
Sayin' flat butts are the thing
Take the average black man and ask him that
She gotta pack much back
So, fellas! (Yeah!) Fellas! (Yeah!)
Has your girlfriend got the butt? (Hell yeah!)
Tell 'em to shake it! (Shake it!) Shake it! (Shake it!)
Shake that healthy butt!
Baby got back!

kisshou -> RE: Word Up (6/21/2005 10:09:57 AM)

If you get there before I do
Don't give up on me
I'll meet you when my chores are through
I don't know how long I'll be
But I'm not gonna let you down
Darling wait and see
And between now and then
Till I see you again
I'll be loving you
Love me

Random thought - is it bad that I know most of the songs people are posting here?

kisshou -> RE: Word Up (6/21/2005 12:27:48 PM)

the only one who has stumped me so far is Gauge

Kiss,

Ahhhh.... all part of my master plan. I am a serious progressive rock fan and the lyrics in question come from a band named Genesis when Peter Gabriel was the lead singer. The first quote is from Watcher of The Skies from the Foxtrot album. The second and third quote come from the album The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway.

I know I wasn't playing fair, but I was interested in seeing if there were any other progressive rock fans that would speak up.

I will post more, but from a different source. Until then.

Gauge

mnottertail -> RE: Word Up (6/21/2005 5:38:48 PM)

and I can still here him saying;
dont you give me no buicks,
and the foreign cars absurd,
if there's a god up in heaven,
he drives a silver thunderbird.

mnottertail -> RE: Word Up (6/21/2005 5:41:55 PM)

And man; the poets down here,
dont write nothin at all.
They just stand back and let it all be.
And in the heat of the night,
they reach for their moment,
and try to make an honest stand.

But they wind up wounded,
and not even dead...........................................
Tonight....................

kisshou -> RE: Word Up (6/21/2005 6:01:29 PM)

Climbing up on solsbury hill
I could see the city light
Wind was blowing, time stood still
Eagle flew out of the night

He was something to observe
Came in close, I heard a voice
Standing stretching every nerve
I had to listen had no choice

Gauge I love that song :)

mnottertail -> RE: Word Up (6/21/2005 6:04:59 PM)

oh, kiss........
one of my favorites.
