" LOS ANGELES - Fire sprinklers at a Los Angeles International Airport terminal turned on Sunday after a water pipe broke, dousing hundreds of people, an airport official said.

The terminal was temporarily evacuated, and the baggage claim and screening areas were slightly flooded, said airport spokesman Marshall Lowe.

The terminal was evacuated about 11:25 a.m., and at 11:55 a.m. passengers were allowed back in, officials said.

Long lines formed in front of the terminal as passengers were readmitted through security checkpoints.

Airport officials could not immediately give estimates on flight delays."

Ahh, adding insult to injury... that's our TSA! [:D]
They should have just said it was a safety shower to remove any poisonous or explosive chemicals that a passenger may have doused themselves with.

Well, at least it is summertime in the Northern Latitudes so hopefully none of them were wearing wool suits.
But how do we, as passengers and Jane/John Q. Public, know if that water was bottled water or nursery water?
Just how clean was this water?  Did it have rust or minerals? hmmm...?

On the other hand, there are partys like this where people are doused by big hoses with water and
bubble bath and they all get drunk and skinny dip together!

With how hot it is in this state right now, that probably felt good. [:D]

Maybe the water'll wash all the grunge on the ceiling tiles (if this was in the United terminal, a dingy, dark place...)

Did TSA let them on the plane with more than 3oz of water in their clothing?
