I don't have a lot of experience in the lifestyle. I have had my struggles with it spritually and mentally. I am learning more about myself then I ever thought imaginable. I have a constant thirst to learn and know more and that is what brings me here. I want to be the best Domme I can be, a Hybrid Domme if you must.  I have been told and believe I am a "true Domme" by nature. If I got some training I would be more marketable. I have had some really good mentors and people helping me along the way, but need to find someone on the same wave length as me, someone I can relate to, who can give me some indepth Domme training, ideas, insight, etc. I guess to make a long story short I need a mentor. Know where I can find one?

Have you tried your local community?  if you have one, if not then trying to meet one on here could work out, though with both you need to exercise your judgement and common sense

I don't suppose that finding the perfect mentor is any easier than finding the right Dom/Submissive/Woman/Man/_____ .  The search proves illusive no matter how many bars you visit, dating sites you sign up for, or friends that set you up until you happen to run across the right one.  Try this mentoring group:  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GA_B_D_S_M_Mentoring/

Good luck in your search.

The local scene is definitely the way to go.  Quite apart from bringing you into contact with a single mentor, the community can act as one big conglomerate mentor - the whole "takes a village to raise a child" concept is very much alive in our world.  Observe, experiment, and grow.

Spitfire,
I dont know where in IL you are, but in Milw there is an awesome Mistress who will train/mentor other women in her "craft."  She is extremely intelligent, knows her stuff, is wonderful for teaching if you and she click........  would you like her information?

I'd actually recommend against finding A mentor and instead finding several. If you see someone with a skill you want to learn, ask them to teach you. If you find someone with a philosophy that seems close to your own, start a dialog. If someone doesn't want you to talk to others or learn from others, to me that a good sign they aren't a very good mentor.

though i do find that i can learn from everyone i meet, i wouldn't recomend haveing more than one mentor over one mentor...they both have their merrits, but they both have downsides and since it hasn't been mentioned yet, a lot of people have a tendency, when they have more than one official mentor to go between them until they find the answer they are looking for...kind of like playing mom against dad when we were kids?

We at Domiguy Industries have been producing some of the most respected and notorious Dommes to ever strap one on.  Through are rigorous training and mind fuck techniques you will be able to cash the check that only a few subs will be willing to write.....Contact me for further details.

I have to agree whole heartedly with the above post. I was blessed many years ago when starting out in the scene to have had 3 incredible teacher who came my way in the form of Pro-Dom/mes who were willing to teach Me. I have also spent years attending munches and moots and getting to know the local scene.. attending and even giving talks.  If you see something that works for you.. wait till the play is over and then approach the Dom/me and ask.. I have never seen anyone turn away a request for help.
