Its been raining here now for near on two weeks. We have had a few hours' respite from time to time, but otherwise its been bucketing down. We had two weeks worth of rain in 45 minutes the other day, and every day we get inches more of the stuff.
There are floods on the roads, on the rails, running down the streets and into houses. The steam railway near my home has expanses of track hanging in the air because the banks have been washed away from under them. Its bloody crazy!
And worst of all, Smokey, the Dom cat who belongs to next door but has adopted me, is bored. He doesnt like the rain at all and wont go out. He's spent the night asleep and is now sleeping on, yowling every now and then as if to say "when will it stop?"
