givemeyourcum -> Singapore and BDSM equipment - please help! (6/25/2007 8:48:05 AM)

Hello all, 1st post so please be gentle. I was just wandering if any of you knew what the control folk were like at singapore airport with regards to bringing equipment into the country, in the suitcase of course. I have a holiday that stops off there soon and looking to take a few things over with me but since ill be in the presence of some family  i dont fancy my bdsm equipment being hauled out of my suitcase in front of them. if anyone knows or has any experience of taking things over there please post on this thread, would help me lots :-)

thanks in advance, R x

I wouldn't fly to Singapore with BDSM gear.  They're invasive as hell over there.  Go to a hardware store once you land and buy some temporary substitutes.

Traveling Internationally with most 'decent' BDSM gear can get your pulled off your plane and literally interogated, depending on WHAT you have; a friend of mine had ALL her viberators conficated while traveling last year a few of them cost in the hundreds.

Be carefull while you travel, its best to be a bit more conservative and inventive when you get to your desintation. Plenty of things looks 'vanilla' enough, but to the BDSM mind, they are anything but, vanilla. ie.. clothespins, jump rope, binderclips, various office supplys {becarefull as to quanties of most things}, etc. Let your imagination go wild. Plenty of things are vanilla enough in appearance, heck, even toothpaste is VERY kinky if you know how to use it [;)]

Personally, I drive or I travel by train. I don't have to take much with me to begin with and I don't have to check anything in; I stick to the 'luggage limits' on the trains for carry-on, and their other rules and its ALL good.

I know somebody who travel there for business. He was almost arrested for smoking a cigar in a park. He wasn't the prescribed hundred meters or whatever the rule was from a restaurant. I think to be on the safe side: belts, leather sandals, ties( maybe not your best ones) and some scarves. Maybe it's a good time to buy a Singapore sling. Have a good trip.

Thanks for the help. Got plenty of sarongs and things like that so guess they will have to do. are nipple clamps a possibility? im not sure if im just pushing my luck here though! i can improvise most other things but would miss my nipple clamps a bit! x

I wouldn't bring even the nipple clamps, instead bring bitey hair clips, (like the mini ones that were so popular a few years ago?) I think they are still at the $1 store

Helpful Singapore hint:

DO NOT CHEW GUM!!!

(It's illegal)

Seriously, I know that when people fly, they often chew gum to relieve the pressure in their ears, but bring hard candy for that. Chewing gum is illegal.

This helpful hint provided to you courtesy of a co-worker of my ex-husband's who we met at the airport way back when, when she was coming into Dallas from Singapore.

She acted like I'd just given her the greatest present she could imagine when I handed her a pack of gum.

julietsierra -> RE: Singapore and BDSM equipment - please help! (6/26/2007 7:03:08 AM)

Oh!! Y'know what she sent me from singapore when she got home as a thank you gift for the PACK OF CHEWING GUM???

A pair of clip on earrings...they were itty bitty real orchids that had been dipped in 14 karat gold

for CHEWING GUM!!!

I was shocked.

I second the above comments, don't take anything suspicious with you to Singapore! They are seriously invasive with luggage. Allow time for them to pull it all apart and then watch you hustle to repack it all! Go on a little hardware shopping trip when you get there. Remember, a few strands of rope could be lashed together to make a makeshift flogger! Use hair clips and pegs etc for clamps. A wooden spoon (especially the large flat-bladed spatula type) makes a lovely paddle with a really great sound. Finding a piece of cane shouldn't be too hard. Visit a pet store for cheap collars, leashes etc. If you want a harness, use rope to make one, don't take one! And suitably sized and shaped vegetables covered in condoms can make insertable toys. I'd consider the lot disposable however and just leave it all behind ... getting out of the place isn't much easier than getting in! If you're going on to somewhere safer after Singapore and want your real toys there, post them over to someone in advance!

Good luck and have fun!

Maam Jay

when i first read this post i was imagining someone carrying a fold up st andrews cross in a duffel bag for some reason...
other things relating to the cleanliness laws (the chewing gum)...if you smoke, there are ashtrays on the street, at least down town, use them....and don't spit on the street...if you get a chance to go shopping in the malls, remember that the prices are suggestions not hard set, even in the 8 story outrageously huge ones....and if you can't identify what you are eating, don't ask, just eat it and enjoy...
chelle
who wants to go back to Singapore without her family lol

thanks chellekitty thats great advice, didnt realise haggling was on the cards there! and thankyou to MaamJay too, very useful!  we arent there for long, we are flying to singapore, staying a few nights then catching a ship so its not an issue. probably wont get the chance to go to a hardware store to get temp stuff so will have to improvise with sarongs and a good strong hand - gonna miss my clamps though! x

I've never been out of the states and reading this post scares me.  Maybe I'll just stick to Amsterdam if I go anywhere.  :)

Lordandmaster -> RE: Singapore and BDSM equipment - please help! (6/27/2007 9:52:15 AM)

I've always thought Singapore was one of the scariest places in the world.  Well, maybe it's not quite as scary as Zimbabwe.
