Hey Sweetie ... I see no one's answered you yet so I'll give it a shot. In my humble opinion it's a perception thing. (keep in mind I have NO experience to speak of) One Mans sub may be another's slave in regard to what is expected from them. Then again, what your mind tells you, you are is a huge part of it. I know this subject has been kicked a million times so what I would suggest to you is to go to the top of the page and try a search. I would bet you will be overwhelmed with reading material. If you'd like, I have some links from other sites I'd be happy to share. But bottom line is what's inside you that your Master can mold to his needs. ((@))((@)) hugs. Q

I don't think you're gonna get one simple answer as many have their own interpretation but I'll at least offer an analogy.... It basically equates to the difference between a Dom and Master and, to me, it's commitment. As everyone "speaks" vanilla, think of Dom and Master in the same way as man and husband - or woman and wife for that matter.... All husbands are men but not all men are husbands. Therefore, all Masters are Doms but not all Doms are Masters! It's logical to me that a prerequisite to being a Master is to have/own/possess a slave. My relationships are M/s but since I'm currently solo, I don't describe myself as a Master; I'm a Dom.... Someone's bound to offer the argument that one can still be Master of oneself but I don't accept that as that can also describe a single submissive getting on with their life between relationships. I'm always a Dom, even when asleep, just as I'm always male but I'm only a Master when in a Master/slave relationship. A quick squiz at your profile tells me you're not only a submissive and female 24/7, you're currently an owned slave, too! There are Doms who also have 24/7 relationships but who don't accept it as M/s.... Maybe it's just a personal choice or in the same vanilla equivalent of some couples who live together their whole lives but never marry - who really knows other than themselves? Focus50.

I agree with Quivver. Its all in what you agree to be with your Dom/Master. If you Both/both agree that you are one or the other, than thats what you are. perfection

A submissive has the right to say a safeword and a right to choose. A slave has willingly given all her rights to her Master. ( note: i said WILLINGLY ) It is no longer their body to do with what they will but the Masters.

i do not how someone gets the idea of so many orgasms..but it did say tongue in cheek. yes, there are, indeed, too many viewpoints on this. i only know of one, myself.... slaves have willingly--------given up all rights to make decisions subs keep back some personal decisions..... me? definitely slave.....i have given up every decision to my new Goddess. thanks a sissy

Well I can't answer for Everyone, obviously. But the reason I am Master's slave rather than his submissive, is that I would rather HE had the final say in all decisions, and that when and what we do (or don't do) in life is up to Him ~ should he want that. Being his submissive would have meant (to US), that I would have been able to say, "well no, not today, dear", or "no, let's do it this way". As a slave, I might say ~ "I don't want to," but he has the right to say ~ "but you will anyway, babe". ~ Elektra

i heard that a slave will and has to do anything at all... with no rights and that a sub does have some rights...... im definitely a sub because there is no way in this world i'm going to cook unless i absolutlely can't get out of it! ~ zay!

erghhhhhh.... It doesnt matter - only the persons Master decides whether their girl/boy is a slave or a submissive. I have no limits - I am not free - and Demon makes all the decisions and that is final. Including that I am not known as a slave. Peace and Love

Master calls me her little slave. i make no decisions whatsoever unless Master asks my opinion on something and wants me to have a say so. i prefer that She make all the decisions. Also my right to used the word BUT and WHY have been stricken from my vocabulary. Unless i am not referring to an direct order and its for educational purposes. In my opinion a slave has no rights where a submissive can say no, but in todays world a slave can't really exsist in the free world. Eg. America,England,France. To be a slave you need to give all rights. Do exactly as the Dominant partner says. Be whipped, punished,beaten and even killed in public without having any authorties arresting you. People say: "oh I gave all my rights and decision making to my Dominant". Go out in public in chains and whip marks. Or have your master hit you in full public. See what the authorties say. Do a google search on Slavery and see what results come. See the real slavery and see that no matter what you cannot reproduce that in the free world. There is still places in the world where true slavery is allowed and if you want to be a slave move there. Im sure alot of children or people kidnapped will glady swap places. (I hate making spelling mistakes.
