Anyone care their views on how man and women differ? Other then men like penis pics and women dont. Just a majority rule (as i know nothing is across the board) Personal opionons, and not right or wrong.

Like IMHO, i have come to the conclusion that generally women are more involved emotionally when it comes to sex, then men. Generally i said. i was just wondering what "other differences" others have seen?

(this isnt about which gender is better)
(or to start a gender debate)

(both genders are needed in this world tvym)

Hmm I'm very hesitant here because anything here really IS going to be a blatant generality, with a million exceptions, with no clear idea as to whether the difference is based on biology or socialization.

I do agree that males tend to be more analytical thinkers and females tend to be more emotional thinkers. Males tend to want to fix things, females tend to want to just group together. Females use technology as tools, males tend to see technology as an end in itself to play with as a toy.

I tend to be very "male" in many respects.

I can tell you the biological differences. Although I won't go into that.
As far as emotions go...I'm told I have none..always been told that.
When was my first date? First kiss? Not a clue, it means very little to me. Doug can tell you we started dating March 8, 1999. I know that because he recently told me.

I'm someone who would rather walk alone than in a pack. I've just never really had good female friends.
Maybe I'm different.

yeah i'm sure its all going to be a generalization, its all perspective. No right and wrong here. Just curious as to what others think about what the "differences" are

Gloria - i'm right along with you when it comes to female friends. i can count the number of female friends i've had over the years, but when it comes to male friends, it'd be impossible to count. Course i always chalked it up to being a tomboy and the only girl allowed to play with the "big" boys in the neighborhood (my brother being one)

My brother died while hiking when I was ten. I remember that night like it was yesterday. Mom and dad standing there talking..saying how I was going to follow in his footsteps. Dad, owned a trucking co. I re-built the engine on my first car at least ten times over the years. Taught a guy I dated off and on to re-build his.
So, I guess you could call me a tomboy. My favorite activity today is rock climbing still. Most men I know can't keep up.

Sorry to hear about your brother. i cant imagine what that had to have been like. Yeah, i love all the "boyish" things. Heck i still love to wrestle! Play soccar, football, baseball, go hiking, climbing, drinking with the guys, talking about girls with the guys (ooo she's got a cute butt) Heck i just tend to enjoy hanging out with them.

But still, topic matter included. Whatcha all see as the differences?

Well, I don't like talking about people until they do something to me in one way or another. Aside from that your list of activities I enjoy very much.
I do however love rating silicone.

The big difference I see. My personal list anyway.
Women tend to sleep their way to the top. They tend to play the scared child act to get things.
They like to shop. They like to gossip, although so do men. They have larger breasts.

I've known men and women both who break my mold. Yet, this is what I se as the majority of the differences. We had a private party last week.
I was sitting with two men I consider friends...three females were there with us. When I spoke up and said I had very little use for females in general you should have seen the looks.

The absolutely best differential I ever understood, and how to adapt yourself for a good relationship was from John Gray's book, Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus. It also brings to the fore (at least for Me) some of the things that make Women, including Me, tick, and why W/we may react to certain things in a different way. It certainly made Me sit up and take notice. I probably understand Myself better! And when that happened, I found it easier to make positive changes regarding the negative traps I fall into as a Woman.
I am sure it is available at your local library, or you can purchase the book since it is still in print.
One website that discusses this (from a Christian perspective but I have only scanned and don't see an overwhelming amount of emphasis on Christianity) is at
Leadership U Probe Ministries and an interesting relationship site that is based on the tenets of Gray's book at marsvenus.
Like the paraphrased quote from the movie "What Woman Want" with Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt, if Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus and you can learn how to speak Venution, why wouldn't you?
I am bi-lingual. I speak English and I try to speak Venutian as often as possible. But I am not perfect in the language!

this may be viewed as sexist.....

but as i see it genetic females are more emotional because it is just a fermale thing..they are just pre disposed to do so.

males however think more with their bodies and less with their hearts....

me? being a sissy boy...or boi if like.....?.....
i tend to be a bit emotional so, maybe i am an exception?

thanks
a sissy

, collarme right? LOL well, i'm sure we all know what here is like when it comes to what they will tolerate and not. As for the real world. i'm sure it could be taken a variety of ways from a man. There is many more then one way to state a statement. Though i'm sure Gloria ment it in a very serious way! Not nice, but funny none the less. But then again, it is just her POV. She didnt say women are useless in a general statement, she said SHE has no use. (Heck maybe she's not bi) Just like i tend to have no use for dogs. Not saying anything about the dogs themselves (yeah yeah yeah, i'm sure she was saying awhole lot, but still its about how it can be taken) just that i have no interest in them. So simply she could of been saying, she isnt interested in women. OR she could be being derogatory to the female gender and insulting herself at the same time. LOLOL (either that or she's above the rest) LOLOLOL

<sigh> yes i butted in, and yes i see no problem with it. Yes its a public forum, and yes no one should expect private convos = ) And yes i have no issue with people butting in where i am concerned! More the welcome.

LOLOL Gloria, hope you dont mine my analysis

This reminds me so much of the poem "Dog" by Lawrence Ferlinghetti. It reads in part:

The dog trots freely in the street
past puddles and babies
cats and cigars
poolrooms and policemen
He doesn't hate cops
He merely has no use for them
and he goes past them
and past the dead cows hung up whole
in front of the San Francisco Meat Market
He would rather eat a tender cow
than a tough policeman
though either might do

The only difference between a Man and a Woman today is a pill. By taking one or two pills every day for about 2 years, I can become a woman.

Fangs, you're a good man but I think there is a lot more involved in it.

Estrogen will help your breasts grow, shift the fat distribution on your body and soften your skin. But removing your beard and removing your naughty bits are no small thing.

And even then.... simply dropping a man in a woman's body merely gives you a man in a woman's body. To quote Simone de Beauvoir: "One is not born a woman, one becomes one." You would have years of re-socialization ahead of you.

Rarely to you see a man saying he is "looking for The One". Obviously, you see women with that approach all the time.

This is half true. A lot of what makes a female brain "female" is hormonal levels during foetal development. A lot of what makes a female brain "female" is hormonal levels during adulthood.

Personally, I have a male brain.

One way that male and female differences are pronounced are with pornography. We've all heard that men perfer visual stimulation whereas women prefer erotica. The root of it is that women need context for arousal. For instance, a female friend of mine enjoys softcore porn, with the cheesy story line, because she needs the context. Personally, I enjoy those 30 second clips of hardcore anal, which is how men enjoy pornography. They don't need context, but rather the actual sex act.
