That was quiet funny!

A switch chooses to either be a bottom or Top, dependant upon the person they are with. I find that rarely does a "switch" do both with one partner.

So, when you spank a switch, you treat them like a sub. Afterall when they are on the recieving end of the "twig" they have in fact switched, so they would be spanked like any other sub..

Hello,

Just to throw my $0.02 in, when I re-read the question I actually see that it may be a genuine question from a person who is unfamiliar with what a "switch" is. I have seen what appear to be perjoratives on this board thrown at people who self-identify as Dominant or submissive asking if they are a switch rather than keep to the topic being adressed. I can only imagine that similar things happen on other message boards.

So a user new to the lifestyle may have an idea from the defensive replies to such posts that being a "switch" is a bad thing to be.

I have posted before that if I end up in a D/s relationship with the bottom half of a switch individual, the idea of co-topping other people with this person would be wonderful.

Well I am a Switch and I like to be spaked at times. That just how you would spank a Switch when they go to say "spank me" then you treat they like a Sub. If they say no I dont think so. Then you done even try.....

A switch that conceeds to being spanked obviously wishes to feel the same things you do if you were seeking to be spanked.

A skillful means of being empathatic and placing yourself in the other person's shoes ( or in this case mindset) and delivering the goods resolutely.

A slow persuccive rhymn should do the trick as you watch for the tell tale signs of body language.

If you happen to be a switch yourself, and are switching with this person....... You want to do it very carefully !!! I had a brief casual relationship once, in which we switched off, and things sotra lead towards revenge ... but it was fun !! Otherwise, there are no special instructions in the switch handbook.

But, to be serious, I'm going to talk about sceneing with a switch or a dominant in general, but it applies to a spanking scene as well. Anyone who's done many spanking scenes knows that there's a lot more to it than just spanking.

The first thing I do when I am topping a switch or a dom/top is ask them what their headspace is. Do they want to bottom or do they want to submit? If it is to bottom, I stay away from activities that tend to evoke submissive feelings: pulling hair, physical domination, evil chuckles... that sort of thing. On the other hand, if they are in a headspace to submit, then I do all of those things and more!

Some are seeking the physical sensations associated with bottoming; pain, endorphins, adrenaline, physical release. Others are seeking all the physical stuff associated with bottoming, along with the emotional sensations associated with submitting. (P.S., it is an oversimplification to say bottoming is physical and submitting is emotional, but it is true more often than it is false.)

The critical piece to remember is that some switches, some of the time, can want or need either. My job, if I choose to top/dom them, is to figure out how to meet that need, without stepping over their line. (Attempting to dominate someone who only wants to bottom is a great way to have an awful scene.) And the only way to find out what they want/need is to ask!

Finally, if they aren't sure what they want, begin by simply topping, then add a little dominance, and see how they respond. If they moan happily, go for it!
