I loved the video. Thank you for posting it. I have saved it to my favorites. I have several friends who will enjoy watching it. I totally agree with most if not all what she says.

Thank you Lotus Song for this thread.

YEA Joy Nash.  What a powerful message this woman is sending to the nation.  She needs to be on Oprah.  I have always felt the way she talks.  I have been the largest person around since I was just a little girl.  Not just fat but tall as well.  Up until recently  (the past 5 years)I have  had a difficult time finding clothing that was made for Large and Tall Women.  I could always find the Large and I could always find the Tall, but never the combination.

Currently I stand at 6'1 and 318 lbs.  For Height, I am off the female charts so the Doctors uses a medium man's chart to determine my "appropriate" weight. (170)  Ha, I have been 170 and you could see ribs.   I have heard all my life that there is no such thing as a large bone structure but I beg to differ.  I am a biological female, I wear a size 13 shoe in Women's (12 in Mens) and I have a D width.  I cannot wear a woman's watch unless I put extra links on the band, otherwise it doesn't fit or it pinches.

Therefore, I have learned to, "Say it Loud, I'm FAT and I'm PROUD"  I am also a BBW because it is descriptive of me.

I am going to start a Joy Nash Fan Club.  LOL

I think some people here are really missing the point of the film.

Joy Nash is saying, stop making excuses, don't hide behind labels, buy and wear clothes that fit and flater your body type. She is also saying to own your weight BUT eat right, exercise regularly! And by doing so, if you still are FAT, it's ok because that is who you are.

I guess some see and hear only what they want too

This goes for everyone regardless of the situation.  However you were the first and only person to cast a negative light on a POSITIVE post.

Great video .........what I found sad was some of the video responses where women of what I consider to be "normal size" felt that they were fat and horrible, but kudo's to Joy for having her say, hopefully her message will gain momentum and reach more and more fat people.
Im still physically prosperous......and a BBW and yes as much as I hate the word, Im Fat, oh I am allowed to hate the word arent I?
have a great weekend
Lucy

The world lost a gem when we lost Freddy.  I just bought the Queen CD (20 some odd years later).  When you listen to it, you realize just about all his songs are part of our everyday lives. It seems no one wins a championship game without "We are The Champions" played in celebration.

I've noticed something of late when I look back on videos of the 60's (when I was a teen)- it seems EVERYONE was painfully thin.  When I saw this vid of Freddy, I remember I thought that was "good lookin;".. I now like a guy with a bit more meat on his bones.  However, guys, can we go back to the slim jeans????

This baggy crap is about as appealing to us as mu-mu's are to you.  Let's see those manly bulges!!!!!!  I mean, when was the last time you were asked "Is that a pickle in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

(good links, instynctive!)
