I visited the Turpentine Creek Animal Preserve last Sunday. This is a non-profit organization that rescues unwanted or neglected big cats and gives then a loving, caring home for life! Lions, tigers, cougers, ect. They have over 100 big cats. If that have room, they will not turn down any animal and have 4 brown bears, badgers, monkeys coyotes, ect. I left them a 200.00 donation as their operation is funded by tourism and donations. One of the very few USDA registered preserves in the country. Please visit their website, turpentinecreek.org, and you will be moved to donate as well! Thanks for reading this!

Cats are my favourite animals - I have one on the coat of arms I made up for our dungeon!

What I find odd, is that I live closer to tigers than most people in India and closer to lions than most people in Africa, with two parks very near here. My parents live even closer to one of the parks and on still summer evenings in their garden, one can hear the lions in the distance - well, about a half mile away.

The best cat in the world though, is the Persian Grey tom that belongs next door but spends a lot of time with me.

I would love to one day volunteer at one of those places.
As for cats my 19th birthday present from Master was a pair of bengal kittens. :)
Doubt I will ever get a present I will treasure more.

We have several preserves in North Carolina for big cats. One is 20 minutes from me. I love going there and seeing the work they do. I donate to this one because I know the people personally and know where my money goes. It is amazing how many were abused or neglected. One panther was a pimps pet that he kept in his house!

Whenever I see someone who dedicates their life to doing something positive and real about mistreated animals I am humbled.  If I had my life to do over I would want to do the same.  Since I have obligations which prohibit me dedicating my life to such a worthy cause I do contribute when I can ascertain the money goes for the animals primarily.
