...talks like a duck and looks like a duck, it's a duck." President Bush was handed a stunning defeat today when the Senate voted down his "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" (Amnesty) Bill. Republican Senators jumped ship on him by a large number. When Republicans are no longer afraid to oppose Bush's programs I think ol' Bush has now become a "Lame Duck." More and more are opposing his Iraq programs too. I think today's vote has "Officially" made Bush a Lame Duck. What do you think?

Doesn't the US political system of limiting a President to two terms in office render all Presidents mid way through their second term a lame duck because everyone will be looking towards the next President?

It is as much the American voter that gave this 'one' the luxury of lame duck status.

Meat, that's true, it's kind of "built-in" that way but after yesterday's vote in the Senate I think we can assume that his status is now "official."
