Just wondering if any of the Mistresses out there currently have or have had a sub serve them as a butler either full or part-time. If so, did you seek this from your sub or was it offered to you? I enjoy this kind of service very much but have had a bit of a hard time finding a Mistress that was into it, or had an understanding of what was entailed. Thought I would ask here to try and guage its popularity as a form of service. Thank you all.

I cannot imagine why anyone would not like this type of service. Perhaps someone who in not into this can give us some insight. I would love this type of service. Especially if the sub already is knowledgeable in this area and has experience. Oh Joy! The only issue though, in my situation, is my home is very modest and does not truly require the services of, say a full-service butler. It might be more correct to say that I would greatly appreciate a personal valet (yes, I know valets are traditionally for gentlemen), who would have some butlering responsibilities. MNN

Honestly, I can say I would not enjoy it. Not in the BDSM sense, but being a frequent guest in a home with 8 full time staff, where you get your room is cleaned while you are served lunch, turned down during dinner, and your clothes washed and put away in between; where the staff are trained to remain out of sight at all times; where you are addressed as "Sir," or Mr _____, I can say that I would not enjoy it. Essentially, it is a little fantasy world where there are no cares, you work is done for you even if you prefered to do it yourself, and you become so lazy to the everyday tasks that your mind goes numb. So no, I would not enjoy this 24/7, BDSM. Yours, benji

If I had a bigger house that might work. As it is Fox has to serve as everything when I want it. If we get a bigger house and a bigger household I have all ready told him his job will become major domo.

Dear servant2her, Ladies and Gentlemen; I have had in past circumstances, a slave who served in a butler capacity. I found it a rare treat to find a servant male that stayed in the masculine side of service and not wish to participate in sissy maid or some similiar capacity. Servant2her: I have served as a major domo, as a male maid and body attendant. It’s time sensitive detail orientated protocol driven and not at all the product fantasies would like it to be. In fact, it can be very taxing and at time it is. Take you time and be cretin that what your asking for you are up to. The challenge is far greater the most immagin.

In the past I have had my subs serve in the capacity of butler, they keep a "butler book" and make many of the household decisions, within the guidelines that I set for them. Originally I was introduced to the idea by a sub and I appreciated (and subsequently missed) the service so much that when we finally parted ways and a new sub came into my life I eventually gradually introduced the idea to them and even expanded upon it. For me it isn't a position in my life that I can just trust to anyone, there is a vast amount of detail and teaching that goes into having someone take that type of position and I find that it takes a very specific personality type to do well at it. Attention to detail is a huge benefit.

Dear servant2her, Ladies and Gentlemen; You asked how my slaves came about becoming a servant in a butler fashion. Well, having more than one slave who enjoyed being a butler to me--one suggested it as it was a take off of military ceremonial duties but, wasn't so 'smart' as far as stiff and rigid mannerisms that helped his more mature physical state. The other, who had a overly smart and too stiff mannerisms--almost mechanical; to put him in a butler frame of behavior and attitude; allowed him to relax a bit and not be so stiff. The fluid of service came to that lad more easily. I also should add, both lads were not heavy into S&M and were a bit terrified of it. I am just as sensual as I can be Sadist. The fact that they could make me so very happy without being whipped or bound--we both were fed in the dynamic. To have ladies actually see 'service' instead of BDSM--it gave a better appreciation to what the lifestyle could be with a 'service' slave--or what I would call a "Universal slave," -- To be given freedoms to enjoy my guests and the butler slave seeing to the details; gave me a joy with no words to capture the feeling. I always appreciated my lads in a butler frame of service; as it was visible to see their protocols on serving, table protocols, e.g. linen, lace table clothes, stemware, etc.; right down to the candle etiquette. Dressing formal or in daily uniform -- the appreciation of what was of the past as well as the present--one could be treated like nobility or the rich and know how much work it takes to pull off fine serving experiences. The lad that 'stuck' to the butler service the best was the former military lad. The slave who was mechanically stiff--well he was so new to the lifestyle, he moved on to others who were not as serious and enjoyed BDSM in a play sense more. All fine--no complaints. I enjoy a fellow who is adept at butlering and other skills that would liken him to a majordomo or aide-de-camp. I think that for the right individual who I felt trainable, he could be sent to a butlering school (there are only a few in the world that are on a 5-star international level.)

Thank you all for such wonderful comments. Yes, in my experience so far (about 10 years), it can be very enjoyable but the reality is that it is extremely detail oriented, tedious and demanding work. One must have a special personality (including A LOT of patience) for it which I feel I have. The difficulty, at least in Los Angeles, is that not too many Mistresses here (I'm sorry to say) have the etiquette knowledge or enough or an old-world sense of class hiearchy to really get it or appreciate it. Nor do they live in the type of dwellings suitable for this service (a dining room table and/or built-in washer/dryer would be nice). With few exceptions, I've been more of a very well dressed cleaning person as opposed to waiter/valet/personal attendant/confident. Again, it's so nice to see that those of you posting here seem to understand and appreciate it. Especially LadyHugs (for whom it would be an honor to serve) as well as Mistress Pandora, etc. This is an interesting topic and form of service for which I have a passion for so thank you so far for the interesting posts.

There was a report in our paper yesterday I think saying that the explosion of wealth in some circles is resulting in too few well-trained, professional butlers. I know that isn't the same as doing it for a kink, but they were reporting that starting yearly salaries were around $100,000 plus room and food of course.

[;)] If my house wasn't a small one....I would be looking specifically for a Butler. I am hoping an exalted slave would be able to do a lot of the same things, as it is a beautiful art.

Good day all, I have never had a butler...I always thought they were employees of the very wealthy and I'd never be able to afford one! My home is probably too small to accomodate such an individual, but if I had a submissive whose pleasure was to do the every day tasks like ironing, serving meals, cleaning, running errands etc...hell yes I'd love it! Yes, I enjoy being attended and waited on, and I enjoy receiving domestic service. I think quite a lot of dominant women like to be the active participants in interactions, which may be why you are having difficulty finding people who enjoy passively (but still quite authoritatively!) receiving service. It was something I've had to grow into, certainly--I'm still working on it, and aspiring to receive service as gracefully as one particular woman in my local community. Then again, there may not be an actual scarcity of dominants who enjoy receiving service--it always seems like there aren't any of whatever one is looking for. Your word choice might be tripping you up, too. I haven't used the word "butler" to describe what I want. Although it's not inappropriate, it seems to have residential connotations, and I don't want a servant to live with me. Valet, too, seems to either connote live-in or a car parker--and, too, valets traditionally take on secretarial responsibilities and act as confidants, neither of which I really need. I prefer the more general "servant."

Dear servant2her, Ladies and Gentlemen; There is a International Guild of Butlers, to which I highly recommend training with if one wishes to be serious at being a Butler. In my mind's eyes I see, the Europeans have that edge over Americans as far as service goes as well as a good reputation. Perhaps, due to the enviorment and society, service in the capacity of a Butler is held in high regard, as it was so important to the European culture as a whole. It has been seen as the long existing example of a power exchange. The need for each other is hard to put into words but the results are personal as well as profound. Just some thoughts.
