when i was young, i was told quite frequently that i looked like Elizabeth Taylor, & when i saw National Velvet, i was amazed at how true that was...we diverged as we aged, though.... i've also been told hundreds of times that i look like "my sister, my neighbor, my friend back in Michigan, etc"...one time my grandmother was crossing a street in downtown Seattle & stopped a woman & started talking to her, thinking she was me...this was before the senile dementia too... the only person in my family who i resemble is some really distant cousin on my Father's side & she & i could be twins!!

I look like Homer Simpson in glasses, with tattoos and a ponytail. I'm ALWAYS being mistaken for him.

lawd........as a kid pippi longstocking........but i loved the books about her so it was a compliment to me..........with a properly bent clotheshanger, i managed to play her in a school play, complete with wacky braided pigtails.....

I don’t look like anyone famous but I saw an older looking version of myself once walking down the street and I’ve been depressed ever since.

A few years ago, when I was blonde, people told me I looked like Jean Smart from Designing Women. Someone else said I looked like Xena's sidekick....forget her name....only 20 years older, lol.

Over the years I've heard Stevie Nicks the most often, Terri Garr and lately Bette Midler. I had to have had at least 5 phone calls during the final of American Idol during her appearance telling me they hadn't ever realized how much I look like her. I've been mistaken for her more than once while in Vegas. Years ago I was at a Fleetwood Mac concert and the resemblance was enough to get me backstage. More than a few of the crew and band members thought the resemblance was eerie.

Ive been told i both look like and sound like,, Barbara Walters. in fact a few people have told me there is a show called something like look-alikes and a customer said they were going to write in about me I used to always be told I reminded people of Penny Marshall, (Laverne, of Laverne and Shirley)

This happens to be one of my least favorite questions....I dislike it when it is posed and one I never ask.....I once met a women who claimed she looked like Penelope Cruz.....Since when does Penelope weigh 220 lbs?....Maybe after a horrible fire, car accident or someone threw acid in her face....Then possibly I could see the likeness. I had to ask her if she had ever seen a picture of Penelope? She wasn't happy....I suggested that there was the possibility that they both might share a mole on their back or have other similarities such as a love of chocolate or flowers.....I at least threw her a bone by stating that Miss Cruz has a beautiful smile and it appears that she had at least been able to hang on to the majority of her teeth. As far as the op looking like Natalie Merchant...Perhaps you misheard the conversation .....Maybe you reminded them of some woman named Natalie who worked as a Merchant Marine?
