Hopefully this hasn't been covered before, although it wouldn't surprise me if it had.

Being a self-confessed perv of the "Browse Photos" section, I'll often click on the profile of many a member to find out more about them. Of course, those viewed will usually check you out too when they see your name under the "Who's viewing me". I have this horrible memory and when I see a name in the "Who's viewing me", I will click on it only to find that it was someone I'd perved in the photo section. And then, that person looks back at you again and then you look at them again. *L* Sort of a "viewing" merry-go-round.

So....do any of you find the above scenario happening to you? I have to laugh at myself when it happens. :)

What you wanna do is highlight the name and paste it in the "user name" box and look it up that way, so the other person can not tell you looked them up....  i figured this out when i tried it with my own name...

I don't mind showing them that I've looked at them.  It gives them a little frisson.

Yes, it happens. I look at some profiles numerous times, just kind of checking up on people.

All the time.  I just wish, tho, that people would chill about that.  I look at profiles and then get an email asking why I looked>

I don’t use that feature much anymore. I made the suggestion that it should have some kind of reset button so that you could start a fresh. I have so many names I can’t see who the new ones are and they don’t seem to be in any kind of order as far as I can see unless it’s ordered by when they lasted viewed you. This is no good if you are interested in the new names and old ones keep viewing you. I know you can float over a name to see when they viewed you but you’d have to realise it was a new name first. It would be better if the names were listed like files are in explorer and you could sort them in a similar way.

I use it all the time too, but I figure that most people use it the same way I do.  If I read a post that interests me, I often look at the person's profile.  It doesn't necessarily mean I am interested in that person, just that I am curious.

I used to view profiles of people I was posting back and forth with, just to get to know them a bit better, maybe understand why they posted what they did, whether it was on the Off Topic board, here or some place else on CM.

Some people have really interesting profiles, pics and/or journals [:)]  ...  and some people have nothing [&:] .  Sometimes I find that my impression of a person just through the msg boards may change once I look through their profile, sometimes not.

I am usually not interested in the people whose profiles I perv, but the people I do like - they already know it [;)]

Yeah, I find it humorous when people get their undies in a wad just because you..........OMG.....looked at their profile.

I remember getting a nastigram from some straight slave girl because I, a lesbian dominant woman, had the audacity to look at her profile. I just told her that if you do not want people looking at it, remove it. Which of course got her more upset "who are you to be telling me what to do?" and on and on and on about how sick and wrong I am, going against the natural order, going to burn in hell. All in all, quite entertaining. I didn't even bother telling her WHY I had looked in the first place. Something she wrote in a thread led me to wonder what sort of nutcase she was and I wanted to see what a nutcase like that looked like. I was not disappointed.

All in all I am a curious sort and just like to read what people have to say. See if their photo fits the image I picture when I read their words.

LOL Yeah I remember getting an email from someone asking why I was looking for long distance relationships, blah blah blah, all because I looked at his profile.  I think I looked at it because he'd posted something on this side.   It seemed very ridiculous to assume that I was somehow interested in him because I'd perused his profile.

It always amazes me how people will get their panties in a twist over nothing.

I always forget who I've viewed and then they view me and then I view them over and over again.  It's all so loopy.  I perv domiguy's profile every few days just to see if he ever adds anything of substance.  Sadly, though, he never does.  Typical dominant.

The other problem with the system is that people can view your profile with one that is deactivated or just view you without going into your profile and they don’t get listed. I often view many people’s profiles here and print out their journal entries so that I can add them to me stalking shrine whist lighting a candle or two.

My view page seems to cycle thru so quickly that I decided to view myself every day and anyone behind me has already been viewed and anyone that pops up after I view myself is new to view.  Thats the only way I can keep it straight.  But yes, the loop of I view you/you view me still exists.
