Can we go with the jello? I bet it's easier to wash out of your hair. [:D]

you'd be suprised how much easier it is to wash mud from hair than jello

Really? I should do experiments on this. And then perhaps experiments on what shampoo best removes each. And I swear, this will be entirely for science and not the chance to wrestle hot girls and boys in mud and jello repeatedly!

Yeahyeah - somehow I am having a hard time believing(although not imagining![;)]) - I do hope you will be posting your results at a later date Aqua!

This is why, when at fetish parties and Leather conventions, when people ask me what I am: I say I am a girl

Hello Ghita
I usually say - 'I am .dark.' - or 'I am me' - usually to a perplexed look of someone going - 'yes, but what do you identify as?' - I usually say - same answer...[;)]

Exactly, I identify as myself....people will learn who I am by my actions..then they can use whatever word they want to describe me. Sometimes those words arent nice, sometimes they are..to each their own

The 9 levels of submission piece is one of the worst dogmatic kinky pieces of trash on the net- right between the 128 slave rules and "essay on why you can't be in subspace and orgasm."

People can and will continue to use whatever labels they want- whether it's because it sounds cooler, because they like it, because they feel it's their truth, whatever.

Unless you are going to take a stand and tell someone "You aren't who you say you are" then there's really nothing to say about the situation.  And someone who would be willing to say that had better be a really very close person to who they are talking to, or else they are being completely rude and arrogant.

The moment you tell someone they can't label themselves, is the moment you open yourself up to having someone say and be justified in doing exactly that to you.  So unless you want to deal with people telling you that you aren't who you say you are, that THEY know you better than you do, and THEY will decide when it's ok for you to use the terms you want to use- unless you want to live in a world where that's ok and good and you welcome that- then shut up and smile.

For one thing, unless you are speaking in a BDSM context the word 'a submissive' does not occur in the english language.  'Submissive' isn't a noun - it is a verb.  Same as the word 'Dominant' - you can be a dominant personality, but as far as dictionarys (Oxford/Cambridge/AS) are concerned it's a verb so you can't be 'a dominant'.

The dictionary classifies both dominant and submissive as adjectives not verbs and the word dominant is classified as a noun as well as an adjective.  Submissiveness is a noun.  Submissively is an adverb (describing a verb)  No where did it mention either of those words as verbs.   Adjectives describe nouns.

RCdc -> RE: why slave and not submissive? (7/4/2007 8:37:24 AM)

As I already said to celeste... yes adjectives - they do appear as verbs(well, submissive does) in a couple of dictionarys I have (which I do kind of understand, but I think that was pushing it a bit[;)]) but as I corrected myself earlier, dominant is adjective (in this context - although noun in medical and musical).

I know you like to, velvet, but don't have to pick my post apart, when I already did that myself previously...[;)]

Not picking anything apart just adding what i know... don't be so paranoid [;)]

RCdc -> RE: why slave and not submissive? (7/4/2007 8:49:49 AM)

Not paranoid - I am just flattered you lurve me so much.[:)]  But then, Darcy and I are pretty lovable...[sm=hello.gif]

Feliw -> RE: why slave and not submissive? (7/6/2007 9:09:57 AM)

personally, i dont refer to me as a slave, since i am not actually being one, but submisive fits better, for my nature, somethimes Dominants calls me slave, and i said them"i am not your slave" cause is true.
