I hated the book even more than the film[&o].  I have read all Harris' books and seen all the films.  I loved both the books and films of "Silence of the Lambs" and "Red Dragon."  I was soooo looking forward to this book and bought it as soon as it came out.  I was so disappointed and told everyone who would listen how much it sucked.  The movie previews, however, did look pretty good.  After watching it, I thought it had a few good scenes but, overall, it sucked just slightly less than the book.  I don't think Thomas Harris actually wrote this...lol...I don't think he could do such a bad job, could he?  Apparently so.  I was so let down by both...............luci

I loved all the books and all the movies....am I weird for having a crush on Lecter?

I liked the first two books, but I was a bit disappointed by Red Dragon.  It was a nice story, but the
connection to Hannibal Lecter was so tangential that I was not impressed.  I have not decided whether
to go see Hannibal Rising or not because the genre does not really do much for me.

I would not be surprised if it was written by somebody else and published under his name.

In response to your question, GeekyGirl, I suspect you are not alone in your crush.  I think Lecter was written in such a way that one wants to know him, in the same sense that a moth flies to close to the flame.

I do too. I think it is because he is intelligent, cultured and polite. With all of that going for him who cares if he eats some rude assholes liver?[;)]
