ORIGINAL: KMsAngel ah sweetheart, do you have any idea how elitist you sound in this last comment? and the comment about classes? mmm yeah, what you're sounding like is you come from a university educated, liberal arts background. how do i know? because i'm going to uni too, i hear it spouted. and i hope to god i never sound like you. very derogatory. at 31, I'd have thought you would have grown out of it by now. At 31, I haven't "grown out of it", but rather have grown into it. And what's so derogatory about defending your race? Minorities do it all the time. Why do you have to assume that I make my comments out of ill will? Why is it derogatory for me to be concerned about the future of my race? Martin Luther King was concerned about the future of his race, and no one accuses him of cultural myopia. From your comments, it's pretty clear to me that you're still suffering the effects of a thorough brainwashing. Have some spine. Cultivate your own views, not the distilled views of others. Why do you assume that my views are immature? And, how are your views so much more mature than mine? What comment did I make about classes that was so elitist? I merely said that the Powers That Be use issues of race to cloud what's really important: class differences. How exactly does that make me an elitist? I'm not trying to be a smartaleck. I'm genuinely curious. Also, if you misunderstood me, that means I didn't communicate clearly enough. My fault, not yours. Okay, you don't want to sound like me. Fine. But who do you sound like? Yours is the voice of convention, the words of your cultural masters are full in your mouth. I think it's funny that everyone up here who's given me a load of crap has done so on the basis of my assuming things. And yet they have no qualms about making assumptions in regards to me.
