Nihilism has often been the preserve of the well educated and affluent. Once people ask the big question 'Why?' and find it impossible to come up with an answer, well, all that is left is oblivion.
Not necessarily, the need to belong to a cause is more important than the cause and solution.
Maybe these people intend to prolong the British influence in Iraq as opposed to remove it?
