Seriously, I don't know how to quantify greatness in acting, but in terms of providing me with the most hours of enjoyment, spread across a wide variety of roles I'd go with Denzel Washington.

he's definitly in my top 3..... i like depp..... dont care for much else about the guy, but i always believe him on screen. he sells his roles everytime imo

I've always been a huge fan of Robert DeNiro. Al Pacino has become a sell out, I think. I love Ray Liotta, and Johnny Depp, although they both have different styles. oh, and even tho he's not the greatest actor...Christian Bale. dang. I love Kate Winslet...think she's a really excellent actress, and beautiful too. edited to add: I realize some of these folks aren't American!!!

lighthearted ... huge hugggggggs :) thank you. yeppers,,,that guy is a great actor in my view. i dont think he has ever disappointed . whether it was big screen or small.
