But the faster you drive the more gas you waste.  He was clearly contributing to Global warming, and wasn't even carpooling.  But this is not even close to the first time he has been busted for reckless driving and or Drugs.  Imagine the outrage if Jenna was caught doing the same thing.

WOW![8|] Al Gore's Son????  This is a hot newsworthy story because Al Gore III is such a famous .......... hmmmmm.   What is it that he's famous for now?  Oh yeah, now I remember.  The same thing Paris Hilton is famous for....NOTHING.

Meanwhile here is some "less important news"
1.   As of Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at least 3,586 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
2.   Attempts to pass a key oil law sought by the U.S. were snarled once more Wednesday by deep differences among Iraq's Sunni, Shiite and Kurdish leaders, delaying parliament debate despite the prime minister's claims of a breakthrough.
3. A U.S. soldier on board a military helicopter was killed when the aircraft was forced down in northern Iraq on Wednesday, the military said.

But who cares, I mean after all AL Gore III got arrested.[8|]

slaveish -> RE: Al Gore's son arrested (7/4/2007 10:10:22 PM)

Yeah.

Let's not have any fun.

Fun's yucky.

Pissed off and depressed is much better.

queencaliph -> RE: Al Gore's son arrested (7/4/2007 10:33:11 PM)

I'm all for fun.  Let's have lots of fun.[sm=dance.gif] (see? fun.)  But at some point we have got to stop letting "non-news" and people who are "famous for nothing" overshadow what's really going on in the world. I'm all for making jokes about politicians and their children but notice the priorities.  This story took front headlines but, unless you intentionally look it up you will not find the story of the soldier who died Wednesday.

I'm sure I'm being overly-sensitive, but if that sarcasm is directed at me, then you might want to look up my "news" threads. They make Katie Couric look like a fucking National Enquirer reporter.

Watch any news at any time and you will see any number of stories about the war, about death (not just of soliders), about drought, about disease. We are so completely imbued with it that bad news telling is now a global passtime. It gets old. I was a journalist and a freelance writer - you don't need to explain to me that there are problems in the world, but you will please excuse me when I want to take a break from it.

And let's not forget the 1,000 dead Iraqis, too.

It wasn't directed at you.  It was actually directed at the media. I don't really mind this kind of stuff being reported. I mind it being a LEAD story when so many real issues are going on.  I hate the "stop the presses!"  attitude of the media whenever a celebrity or rich person does something like this. Al Gore III, Paris Hilton, Angelina, Brad and most of the faces that dominate the news today have no effect on the world at large.  Whatever they do or don't do is not news and the media's focus on them does nothing but distract the public from what's really going on.

However, out of respect for your thread, I don't mind taking a pot shot (pun intended) at Al Gore III also.  So of course he smokes marijuana, being a plant, its an "environmentally friendly" drug.  *puff puff pass* [:)]

Thanks [:D]. I agree with you 100%, by the way; when the media bombards us with celeb "news" instead of things that matter, it makes me shake my head. Anyway, have a good one.

Funny, there were no reports that he was stoned at the time.  Was that report only issued to the news outlets in your delusional world?  By the way, I'm still waiting for you to back up some more of your claims in this thread.  Do hurry back.

the line was probably parrotted from someone spouting asswipe on  the much overrrated conservative talk radio gibberish channels, and therefore stands on its own without any need of correlation to actual events.

luckydog1 -> RE: Al Gore's son arrested (7/5/2007 11:18:30 AM)

Steph, the officer reported that the car smelled like Pot, so you want to pretend that is not evidence he was smoking it in the car?????  come on, you can do better than that.

As to my other allegations you referenced.

Due process means an open trial, the right to confront all accusers/witnessess, and the right to challenge the nature of All evidence against the person.  That is what Due process is.  If you demand it, that is what you are demanding.  That means any agent who collected evidence would have to be pulled from the field(to attend court) and be identified, publically.  It means any method used to collect data on Al Queda would be disected in open court, and compromised.  It means hundreds(or thousands) of people who helped us in Afgnaistan would be identified in court while testifying openly, then they and thier families would suffer reprisals.  That what Due Process means, and everyone demanding it is demanding the exposure of hundreds of our agents, and the slaughter of our allies.

If you not aware that Valerie drove to the CIA headquarters in her own car every day, then you are just not paying attention.
