Along the same lines as katie, I have a burning  question.

Most the slaves I know in real life have had previous owners.   Not many are in their very first M/s relationship.

Slaves are frequently replaced with younger prettier ones sooner or later and/or given away to new owners.  If one wants to take this Story of O fantasy to its conclusion: O was branded by Sir Stephen but he still eventually gave her away.  Such is the lot in life of a slave [:(]

How does your new Owner feel about the branding and tattoos done by the old Owner?

Does a slave discreetly not mention the (former) significance of the brand?  Hide it?  Get it lasered off?

I cannot imagine how the lady with "Property of JonnyV" between her legs is going to hide that from future Owners.

insidioustoy -> RE: branding your slave (2/10/2008 11:46:11 PM)

I have three tattoos, none of which have anything to do with any previous Masters or the lifestyle at all. For me, I am aware my Master wishes to mark me as his in some way. I think it will be a tattoo, not a brand simply because that kind of pain doesn't appeal to me. But should he wish a brand, I am his property and he can damn well do with his toy as he wishes.  I accepted that when I accepted him as owning me. As his slave, I have no limits. I can voice my concerns but I trust him to keep me from harm and do with me what he will. I would not have accepted his ownership of me if I didn't trust him with my life. No, I'm not saying that is the one "twue" way but it is how I define myself as his slave. It is my belief in what I am as a slave. It works for me. Everything about me is in his hands.

Will he be my Master forever? No. Does that mean I will regret his mark on my body? Hell no. For me, like my other tattoos, it will be a reminder of a signifigant and life changing event. It will be the mark of the wonderful time we shared and his impact on my life. The mark doesn't change what once was. I may not be his slave forever, but I will know him and carry him in my heart forever even when we part ways. That being said, I would be proud to wear his mark and be proud to explain to future Masters who he is and was in my life and how he helped to shape me into what I am. Life is fluid and ever changing. The only thing that is forever is our memories . . . .

. . . . . at least until Alzheimers sets in.

which is why I would only ever get marked with something a) I loved regardless of my feelings for the person who wanted it put there and b) that would not cause me pain humiliation or resentment after it has been done.

If he is the type that needs his name written on me as proof I am devoted to him ... then he doesn't know me at all, and wont be keeping me for long

If it was attractive and in a discreet place (for work) then I would do what I'm told.

i would like to know if a sub slave would be willing to be branded on a part of your body with your slave name and the name of your owner?
i ask that question because today i wacthed a chat show and this middle age lady came on wearing a slave collar and openly told the audience that she is the property of her master.
i think that takes alot of guts to do that on tv
so thats why i want to know if sub slaves are prepared to take it further and actually be branded by your owner?

I wouldn't simply because A) I don't have a slave name and B) I firmly believe that putting the name of the person you are with on your body is very bad luck.

Happily, it's not an issue in my relationship as he happens to agree with me that it's tempting fate.

PS. Yes we realize others have done it and had it work wonderfully. Doesn't change our mind on the subject. [:)]

I don't have a direct answer to this because my current Master was the first to have permanently marked me.  When I received his mark, I didn't believe in "forever" anymore, but the degree to which he has impacted my life is enough to know I will wear his mark, no matter what might happen in the future, as a way of honoring him for who he is and what he has done.

We have since pretty much established that whatever occurs in our lives, I will always belong to him. However, he is considerably enough older than me that odds are he will leave this earth before me.  Should I ever submit to someone else after his passing, it would be as a submissive and not a slave (as defined by my standards of each), and I will not fully belong to anyone else.  Anyone I might submit to (and that's a pretty big "might"), would have to accept that the mark on me is part of who I am, and stays.  They would have to accept that part of me will always belong to and submit to my Master, else they will not have me as their submissive.

To us, the mark was not placed casually, by any means.  It was designed by him for me, and it will remain.

i must say that even though i am dom
if i did switch i would be willing to be branded by my mistress
its like your badge of honour which a true slave would wear with pride.

Well cmon over blackdomuk,
I will tell you where I will burn you *EG*

How long does those relationships last?
In bdsm....
when you're old and grey you may have the whole alphabet burned upon ya body...

Why is this the true way of submission?

I so disagree with such..

and I wouldn't want that for My sub,
or B brave enough to get a nice burnmark
yourself!

I can only say for myself that is something I thought about and considered quite a bit before the branding (and I know my owner did as well).  But I've never believed in promising forever and with our age difference forever for my lifetime is impossible.  On the other hand my owner is the only owner I've had and we've been together for ten years.  I don't see him throwing me away or exchanging me for a younger slave since I'm only 30 (maybe he could find a 20 year old again.... who knows).

I do know that if he released me tommorow I would see the marks that I have for him as treasured reminders of our time together.  If I were owned by someone else they could certainly re-configure the brand (with an additional surrounding brand or a tatto) for a different meaning or significance.  I honestly don't have the space in my life to worry about all of the what if's that are possible (especially the more implausible ones).

i dont think i would mind getting a tattoo for my dom (even though i do generally adhere to the superstitions regarding tattoos being the death of romantic relationships), but actual branding...eeeeeeeh, definitely not.

i actually had a branding fantasy when i was younger, but futzing around on the internet and bmezine's modblog has basically cured me of that...some people be crazy!!

charlotte12 -> RE: branding your slave (2/11/2008 4:09:37 PM)

Master has talked of branding this slave a year from the day he placed the training collar on her neck.  He has not said how he will decide if it is the time but he has made it clear that the brand will not represent his ownership over this slave.  He wishes to mark her as a slave.  His collar will signify his ownership.  This is an important concept for both of us.  Sure the brand will have significance in regard to him but it is also something this slave can take with her should Master ever cease to be her owner and it will have meaning beyond his ownership as a symbol for the woman and slave that she is becoming and the choice she made to follow that path.

Master and i are working on a symbol of what He is to me and my SLRN instead of a barcode or just numbers or even just a name...i believe in branding, and await the day i get branded. but for now a tattoo will work. i plan to have a very close minded job..so what ever tattoos i get lifestyle or not have to be discreet.

With the quote, I guess you can see how I feel about the subject.  Yes, I'm very happy about it, too.

my wife doesn't want a permanent mark on me yet so my M'Lady has chosen a temporary brand using hot water and wire it will have her initials and last for about a week. I'm so thrilled to get it from my M'Lady i cant wait. she is going to do it on valentines day how cool is that!

i have considered getting a very discrete tattoo marking me as a slave for my Guardian, but as for branding i couldn't do it because of my profession...tattoos are fine because they are easily masked with the right make-up.  but i would wear it with so much pride!

littleone35 -> RE: branding your slave (2/12/2008 12:43:34 PM)

This is a revived old thread but now i can answer it.  No way no how is my Master ever going to brand me.  Master does not want to give me that kind of pain, and he does not like body art.  I am not even allowed to get a tattoo even though i think it would be cool .I as always will abide his wishes.

Yes, it is a revived thread, but in this case, unlike many other topics that have come back from the dead, over a page of replies has shown that people are interested in the topic.

A very practical way of achieving most of the aim without any later unanticipated problem. Neat.

hisgirl2011 -> RE: branding your slave (2/17/2008 9:01:30 AM)

yes, I've dabbled a little in research just in case.

bluelace001 -> RE: branding your slave (2/17/2008 6:49:25 PM)

yes. Master decided instead of branding with hot irons, a tatoo would be better. I have a blue rose with the words property of ++++ (his initials follow) on my left upper butt cheek (closer to the low back)

SubbieOnWheels -> RE: branding your slave (2/18/2008 8:43:02 AM)

I am under consideration of my first Master, and He says I will be "marked" in some way. This will NOT be branding, for two reasons: 1) I am a diabetic, and wound care is tricky with diabetics; 2) He just doesn't like it (a fact for which I am extremely grateful).

The question then comes to what kind of mark? He is thinking about a discreet tattoo, or a discreet piercing (but not nipple piercing, which he also dislikes). The point of the marking, He says, is for me to see or feel it (with my visual impairment, feeling it might become more important) and remember I am His property.

I get kind of all gooey inside at the thought of the marking.

CalifChick -> RE: branding your slave (2/18/2008 9:28:14 AM)

Subbie: A brand is a burn, but tattoos and piercings are still wounds. I haven't done any research (and maybe you have) on diabetes and these types of wounds. I would be interested (because I'm a nosy git sometimes) on the information if you have it.
