After a nice rainy 4th of july night its a nice a fucking humid up here in portland and I am sure other parts of the east coast that got wet. Right now i am stripped down after hauling my um his stroller and BBQ stuff up a freaking hill in jeans. As soon as i got in the first thing that came to mind was i need a sub in my room with a big ass palm frond to fan me.  Odds of that happening? Slim to none thanks to a sub with an evil work schedule. oh well i will just lay out and put ice on my chest and of course now i don't want to grill because it mean standing in front of an even hotter grill

i used to live in a house with 18 foot celings and no a.c. or fans. i am in arkansas and back in the '80's it got so hot i couldnt stand it. so i wet down an old thin dress i had and stuck it in the freezer before i would take baths that were as hot as i could stand them ( a hot bath in the heat will keep you cooler longer, but dont make it last too long or you might just pass out) when i started to heat up again i would then put on that frozen dress. that usually kept me fairly cool for most of the day.

We literally just finished putting in a pool.  I was the first to jump in about an hour ago...fully clothed to cool off and back to work screwing...the deck.

Grill late at night when it is cooler. Do most of the cooking then. Put it in the fridge and microwave it to heat it up for the dinner, etc. Growing up in the south without AC made for some inventive measures to beat the heat. Also, a spray bottle to mist yourself in front of a fan helps as well.

Aw, you poor baked hot tamales. =(

It's around 75 here, and sunny right now in NE Ohio, but it's been overcast most of the day.

I'll try to send some nice cool rain your way. =)

It's 84 here sunny with a nice breeze.
I'm only about 6 miles from the ocean so we get a nice seabreeze once in a while.
We do get heatwaves here once in a while but for the most part the weather here is great!
I read somewhere that the Carolinas and San Diego have some of the nicest weather in the country.

I was born and raised in Elyria, Ohio.  I left 24 years ago and never looked back. I'll take heat over humidity any day.

Lotus, how'd you end up in Ariz. from Ohio? Job, guy?
I moved here for the weather and to get away from the high housing prices of the North East and I'm glad I did.

It will be around 109 today where I live. We have cooling centers for people that lack AC. I had some plans to go out and do some things today, but I decided to remain indoors. I am getting over a head cold and the pollution is toxic as the day wears on. I did go to the gym very early though.

Are you in Arizona too?
I thought you were in S. Cal.
I didn't realize that it gets that hot there.

Depends on where you are and how close you are to the ocean. Going from the coast to inland 10 miles and you can go from 65 - 105. We couldn't see the fireworks from our place last night because the ocean layer came in and clouded our view. Lived within 1/4 mile of the water for 5 years and never needed air conditioning and only a few nights hot enough to sleep without a blanket.

LA gets HOT the valleys get even hotter. There is little humidity. Its a 'dry heat'; but then again - so is your oven.

Ohhh yes indeedie is it ever hot here in Arizona.  They do say that it is supposed to cool down to 105 over the next few days.  Monsoon season is approaching.......with 10% chance of rain, how can they be wrong?  *LMAO*

I can spit more than it rains.   lolol

Ohhh yeah!  and for the people who may be thinking about moving down here?  don't let anyone tell you:  "The heats not bad, its' a DRY heat"
While i will say that i have only been in the state since 2002 and the humidity is better than Michigan, it's farrrrrrrrrr from a dry heat.

Life goes on..........

~smilezz~
