Hello...

Many of you seem to be reading the op starter of a thread and may not be checking out the complete thread.  If you will notice the threads in this section that include rape or abuse in the title and read through those threads... you might find reason to not want to submit your stories.  Check out the last couple of pages of each one and you will see what I mean.

If you just want to tell your story or give input... understandable... but let it be known that there is good cause to wonder about the intent or motivations on why the thread was started.  I just saw new posts and didn't know if people were aware.  Oh and also be warned... that if you tell your story... you might get an email wanting more detail on your experience, if we didn't scare the guy off last night.

This is exactly why when i read a post asking about my experiences i do not reply. i might share things with my Master, my family, close friends, maybe even a new friend or two. However i do not think a public forum where anyone can read and get off on what is written is where i want to post my personal experiences good or bad.

I got 2 messages an I kept my response short since the emails were semi-intrusive; I share what I want with whom I want, and its close friends or a close partner, not many others know. The creep on the other thread seems to be getting off on what he was reading, and it seems some are willing to give him what he wants.

Thank you Lockit for alerting myself and others to his trollish behaviour. I hope a Mod gets wind of things, that has to be some sorta TOS violation, if not, can't they add an ethics clause?!

An ethics clause?  Who's ethics?  I would much prefer a maturity clause but then again that would disqualify many who come here.

I couldn't agree with you more.  You may as well tell the cashier at your local grocery store.

There is such a 'look at me' mentality on this board.  An answer to every question.  An opinion on everything and anything.  Sometimes i just don't get it.

Edited to add - I'm not making light of the sick bastard who gets off on other peoples sorrow...but frankly, the world is full of sick bastards.

Some people need to tell the cashier at the grocery store.  So I guess this would be a lot better. {smile}

SimplyMichael... I can agree to most everything you say... but without the dig or insult you must include. lol

I am a little stunned by these two posts and did not realize that some might think that sharing experiences on a message board is a bad thing.  This is a perspective that I have not considered before.

One of the reasons that I read and post here is to hear other people's experiences and to share my own in the hope that it might resonate with someone and help them find their way around a sticky point or two.  It certainly isn't motivated out of wanting attention for myself though that may be a by-product.  Reading the experiences of others has helped me sort out my own struggles every now and then.

I can certainly appreciate why it is prudent to share some experiences and not others, but I don't really understand not sharing any experience at all.  Since you don't come here to share your experience, what is your motivation for participating on the boards?

I never said nor insinuated that people shouldn't come and share their experiences, opinions, expertise.  To say i haven't learned anything from this message board would be untruthful.  I surely wouldn't spend so much time here if i wasn't walking away occasionally feeling enlightened or educated or awed.

My point was - there is no crime in passing a thread by.  Surely, KyraofMists, you don't comment on every single thread here.  (I know you don't and because of this, i pay attention when you do have something to say.)

In this particular case, my point was - contribute to any thread you like but do so with the knowledge that more than likely there are alot of 'unfavorable' people reading your responses.  That what you say here has the possibility of being referenced at a later time.  All that good stuff we see everyday and pretend we don't.

Anyway, i wasn't trying to offend anyone so my apologies if i did so.  For the record, out of the hundred and some posts i have made - there are many i wish i could take back, too :)

tricia,

I was not offended at all.  Really my interpretation (that sharing experiences is not a good thing) of the two posts together surprised me.  Since that was not the intent then it is my misunderstanding.

I completely agree that it is wise to pick and choose what to share and I do so with the knowledge that it is out there to be read by anyone.  There is so much of our life that we don't share; it belongs between the three of us.

That is too bad that you wish you could take some things back.  I know I have been hesitant to write some things, but the positive feedback more than makes up for any negative.

Thank you for clarifying.

Great advice, I read about one fourth of all the original posts and threads on here.
I only comment when something draws me to the OP.
Many people here post just for the sake of posting, and it shows.

i agree. i did not mean i have not learned anything from these boards and i have shared a few things myself. However i do not post on every thread, not even every thread that interest me. when i do find a thread that interest me for whatever reason i read not only the OP but every responce before i respond as normaly i do not wish to be just another of the same. i also am very carful of how personal the information i share is.
i ment a dom on line once, oddly it was not on any lifestyle forum. i thought though he was a bit, feel sorry for meish, He seemed nice enough. We were having a confersation once and i shard somthing personal with Him and He began asking me many questions about it untill it made me very uncomfortable. my Master, who had been monitering the conversation, and i talked about it and agreed that he was "enjoying" what had happened to me too much and my Master ended that line of conversation with him. After that though the dom was still friendly and still soke to me there was a very diffrent feel to it. This taught me to be very careful what and with who i share intiment stories about my life with.

Thankyou Lockit for your concern.
I am well aware that some people find abuse a turn on.
I have done in the past.
I have said this before and I'm fairly certain it's true.
Our reactions to things are not within our control but our actions are.
I am slowly getting over the effects of my own sexual abuse.
However the recovery process only started when I was forced into recognising that I had been abused.
I have been able to analyse a lot of my problems with the help of other people in the lifestyle.
Once I realised what they were I have been able to work on them.
That's how growth occurs I think.
Even if I never achieve the relationship that I need I will always be grateful that other people are actually capable of caring about others.

Hello lateralist1,

It can be a rocky road at times and we don't need people making it a rougher road to travel.  Yes, we can put some good into situations that seem bad and we can realize something we hadn't when someone else's actions are good or bad... but it is best I think to not have to deal with someone taking advantage of our pain in such a way.  What I did not like was that I might seem to be watching the bad guys and expecting people to conduct themselves my way and that it might seem I had an opinion of things I have no opinion on.  I do not feel that it is bad to have the feelings and desires some have had... each person and situation is different as I said in my first post on that thread.  Whatever you feel is what you feel.

I am glad that you have found some resolution to the things you have been through and found the right people to help you along!  And... {smile} You never know when you just might find the relationship... Stranger things have been known to happen!  Have faith...

May life bless you!
