have you found ways to prevent them? I am curious to here your responses.

kylee

I find that Eucrin products help me alot. I use Aquaphor healing Ointment to help heal and the Eucerin Orginal Moisturing Lotion to maintain.

I spend several hours a day kneeling, usually on the hard, rough carpet of my apartment. As a result my knees are often raw and irritated, sometimes calloused, and always dry. My Master is concerned about this and asked me to research treatment and prevention options. My research suggests that cushioning my knees when i kneel and applying lotions and moisturizers are about all i can do.

I am sure plenty of other subs/slaves have had this problem. How have you dealt with it? Do you and your Dom just accept that calloused knees are a fact of life in this lifestyle or have you found ways to prevent them? I am curious to here your responses.

kylee

I just do my best to not kneel on carpet as much as possable.

Although I am still haveing the same problem as you.

Lots of  lotion after a warm soak in the tub helps a bit... the soak in the tub helps soften the skin so it will take lotion better.

ready4srvce4all,
i am not required to stay completely still when i am kneeling, so i do shift quite a bit--more the longer i kneel. i will even kneel on one knee momentarily while i rub the other one out, so it hardly ever gets to the point of my knees getting numb. When that happens, i am sure to tell my Master. I will try the method you described though; it's probably more visually pleasing, lol.

~smiles at the complaint here~
it is an honor to Him to be on her knees.....presentation of respect and of service
in all of my years of service, this one has to think that there is a reason for this discomfort, after all.....does the poster of this only recieve "love" pats?

The poster is asking for advice, not condemnation for doing so - and is obey what their Master asked them to do.  When did obeying ones Master become all about complaining?

To the OP - for a natural approach, try coconut oil and/or milk.  You can also find natural coconut massage creams/oils - but be careful for allergies of course.  Massage the knees deeply to assist with circulation which aids healing and skin development.

Knees are VERY painful and expensive to replace...be good to your knees and your Dom type should be JUST as concerned about that as you are.

My Master says He likes the idea of a throw rug, and i will experiment with different lotions, and use them more often.

I may not have a lot of experience in submission, but I use a brand of moisturizer/body butter that works like a dream. It's called "Udder Butter" and works very well on those thick foot callouses, so it should work just as well. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is a spa-style emery board or callous file. But I would only use one if you have thick callouses, they can help wear them down.

Good luck!

Greetings kylee,

There is a product called "Pretty Fett and Hands" which is an exfoliant. Basically you rub it on and it sloughs off the dead skin (you can literally see it occuring). A few applications may help a great deal with the callouses, as well as a mat or pillow for kneeling on. i kneel a great deal as well. i have floor pillows (slave pillows) all over my house and it can help a lot.

that is odd because for me I am barefoot and in sandles all the time so very  dry calloused heels, and one time I had tennis shoes and socks on for almost a week strait and my feet became very very soft.

I have calloused knees.  Feet as well.  I've seen a dermatologist about it.  For the feet I was told not to wear shoes as much as possible.

Lubriderm is a great lotion and doesn't smell.  I would use a pillow under your knees for the comfort and I would use a pillow behind your knees to keep your thighs not completely on your calves.  That will keep some of the pressure off of your knees and should be a bit more comfortable.

Knees are too important and complicated to risk permanent damage.  On other threads about limits there are many comments about not doing anything dangerous.  This has gone to the point of danger for you.

You need to find other positions that show respect, and limit the time spent kneeling.  That isn't lack of respect, it's a medical necessity.  Can you find some other positions that please him, that show respect, but don't put you at risk of permanent damage?

(Fast Reply)

I personally keep small, square throw pillows in the rooms where I kneel most often by my Master. It does help take the strain off your knees (and I'm one of those types that is absolutely driven nuts by having knee pads- Master has teased about making me go out in them for humiliation purposes because I hate them so much). They are easily portable as well, so it's no hassle if he decides to sit in a place that is not usually where we "hang out" in the house- and for an added bonus, no vanilla type thinks twice about throw pillows when they visit. *smiles*

Moisturizing also helps- I have really chewed-up looking feet from 18 years of ballet and dance, so I'm used to taking care of calloused skin. I use Aquaphor and Lubriderm for my feet, and it does wonders (I put it on any time my skin feels dry or itchy, after classes, and every morning/night). I never try to get rid of the calloused areas, though- I need those! Without them, I bleed. So, I'd say make them softer with lotion if that's what you are needing or wanting to do, but they will go away on their own or at least lessen when you take the constant strain/pressure off.

I hope this helps, and good luck finding a solution that works for you-
