so it's clearly not violating any of the Collarme TOS's so I'm at a loss as to who to contact about this.

As an aside where is the spot to upload an avatar on the forums like others have? I've clicked the avatar selection under "my avatars" in the "my profile" area that gives me this page of preselected avatars: http://www.collarchat.com/avatars.asp

but would prefer my profile pic to be the avatar (if, and when, I can ever get that approved).

Thanks for any information. I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

If you have not recieved a note of any kind yet, My assumption is the Picture God's are backed up and will get to yours shortly.

as for the avatar it too has to wait on the picture gods. 
no you can not upload here, only there.

Sometimes it takes just a bit longer than 72 hours...but if you're concerned, you can send a message off to "support"...maybe they can give you a reason for the delay.

Just an fyi...took just about 4 days to get my picture approved *nod*

Sometimes it takes longer.  I just waited about five days for one to get approved.  Once it's approved on the profile side you can use it as your avatar on this side.

Now that I know that 72 hours isn't a "hard limit" on their end I can def give it longer since CM seems to be somesort of non-profit. I had assumed that 72 hrs was the max and that the internet might have eaten my update into nothingness.

If it doesn't show up after awhile longer do you mean support (at) collarme.com?

Yeah...Although I'm not exactly sure it does feel like about a week. Thanks for the update on the avatar as well.

Profile photos are reviewed by volunteers.  It's not unheard of for their lives get in the way of their volunteer duties, especially on nice summer weekends or during holidays.  Please be patient.

Briefly,

The first photo will have to be a photo that shows your face (usually, obviously it depends on whoever approves it.)  You have the option, once it's approved, to use that photo as an avatar.
