Missokyst -> Things I just don't get.. (7/8/2007 10:23:20 AM)

Yesterday I decided to BBQ. We have one of those weber grills that
look like a small black round thing. None of us here enjoys the taste
of starter fluid so a while back we bought a chimney stack thing that
lets you start your coals with newspaper and a match. Usually my
daughter is the house backyard cook, but yesterday I took a shot at it.
So I started up the coals and when they were ready I flipped them into
the bottom of the grill. Well.. one of those little bast*rds escaped
my notice and landed on my porch. When I went in to grab the tri-tip
I had seasoned and put it on the grill that little coal was waiting
for me. My left foot went down right on top of it somewhere between
the center of my foot and the ball of the foot up top. OWIE!
I hobbled over to the faucet to turn the hose on and get my foot in
water asap. *Quick tip here.. do NOT assume water is going to be cold
from the faucet!* I went to the hose end and put my foot down into
the puddle of water gathering on my grass. HOT HOT HOT. Not good.
It finally cooled some and I kept my foot there a bit. Then I got
into the pool for an hour.
Later, I was online reading various bdsm forums while my foot was
soaking in a tub of cold water. So what do I see? LOL people
pointing out that real phyiscal play can be painful!
I mean.. I could have typed out A painful foot experience as
bastinado. People seem to really enjoy that foot caning experience.
But I wonder if it's their fantasy or if they have really felt the
pain and soreness that lingers for days?
Or I could have written up a hot branding scene (effectively this WILL
be a brand on my foot for months to come), and people would oooooooo
and ahhhhhhhhh imagining their master putting a brand on their virgin
flesh, and it would get them all quivery. HMM.... LOL trust me, I
think the pain would be just as bad as this on my foot.
So for me this real life physical pain which has both scarred me, and
will linger for sometime, and has shown me a physical limit which I
hope is never passed again.
Of course, this injury was caused by my carelessness and not something
delivered at my lovers hands. But the physical pain is still pain.
When a scene is done, the reality can linger. This is the reason I
can't do that online submission/training thing. I know reality, I
have felt that sting of heat. I have felt the needles piercing my
flesh. I have seen that blade draw blood. I know that a purple
bruise while sexy as heck when it happens.. is going to turn into an
ugly green yellow splotch while it heals. Once you experience
something in the flesh it loses power when someone types it to you and
you realize that they just don't know..
So.. for me,
I don't get foot pain. No bastinado for me!
I don't understand the desire to be branded.
And.. LOL online bdsm is just not going to do it for me.
Reality has skewed my views.
What are things you just don't get? Needles? Spanking? Tickling?
Enema's? I am not talking of just limits here. I am speaking of things that
you read about and just shake your head and think.. ok.. why?
