I agree with cjenny. A spanking seem to cleanse me, take way all the tension, leaves me free, makes it easier to breath and clears my head so i can think better. Sometimes Master spanks me because i need it, sometimes only because he wants to. But it is always when he wants to.

for us maintanence spankings are not punishment nor are they play. but in our case spanking is never a punishment. what we have found is that if we don't have time for an in depth play session i tend to get out of sorts. i'm not bad...i don't act out or refuse to perform my duties. more that i just move through the motions and don't fully experience my submission. it becomes more of a role play instead of my life. so to alleviate that problem, if circumstances keep us from scening for too long, i get spanked. no long warm up but no heavy hitting either. just some good, firm swats taking all of 10-15 minutes. and then i'm good to go.

well i don't really reffer to it as maintence spaknings but guess it could be called that. my Mistress tries to do so as much as possible because She knows and understands that for me,it is a case of it is something that is needed for me. it remind me of my place and it brings Her my full submission.as i have said to Her there is no punishment in the world that could ever be compared to not recieving Her spankings or floggings on me.

Aswad and nephandi do it as I recall. Others who mention it say it isn't a heavy beating daily nor onerous for the dom/me. But it helps refocus the sub in a submissive headspace which is helpful for those of us who can't really get there alone.

Hi, We have done this in the past (and hopefully will again) and yes, for both of us it is about 'the headspace'. However, I'd like to add that for me there seems to be some real physical connection with what I will call "BDSM attention" and my mood in general. Perhaps it's the little jolt of hormones or something physiological, or perhaps it's just that little bit of extra attention, but it really does play a big part in how I feel. While a good spanking does turn us both on and is often used as foreplay, the maintaince spankings were NOT used in that way. They were shorter and not as intense. They were actually scheduled for every other night at bedtime. They alternated between bare hand, leather slapper, and tawse.
