Ok time for a new comedian. Before It wa Carlos Now I am moving on to Lewis Black. This is from Red White and Screwed. One topic in particualar. The bible. Well more like new testament vs old testament. more to the point the whole 7 days of creation vs Evolution. he brought up the fact bush said that as far as evolution goes the jury is still out....another bushism to be sure. lewis was stating how the OT is for the Jewish People...he's right and the NT is for Christians and that Christians need to stop misintrepting what the OT says. There is also the comparisson of the OT God to the NT God. OT= Prick(his word not mine) Vengeful etc NT=loving peaceful god. And Lewisis right Christians are using rules and strandards that were written down for the Jewish people to run the country more out less. creationism in school, all anti-gay marriage legislatrue. "Thoughts Screw up the Faith. Ask Any Catholic priest" Lewis Black. I say if you believe it took only 7 days more power to you but how do yo explain fossils? I possed this question to someone and their answer was its the devil's work. Now like i said I am a pagan but i grew up in Christian family and went to Catholic school until the middle of the 5th grade. once int he public school system i realized that what i had been taught in school was wrong and one sided. As I got older i saw how my friends who were gay fought with their happiness and their families scorn. You can be gay and catholic as long as you do not act upon those impulses. Its a big load imo. after some reading and thinking i became a pagan. The rules that govern pagans and wiccans are non restrictive and bear no ill will towards those of other religons and sexuality. You don't have to tithe,, confess your sins or go to a building . the best eye opener in part that everyone needs to watch is the movie Stigmata. There is nothing wrong with faith but blind faith is not always a good thing. Creationism in school is nothing but badly disguesed religious doctrine it should nto be allowed in the public schools. If we are gonna do that then EVERY faiths view ont he creation of the world and the universe needs to be taught. not just the christian majority.

Yeah, blind faith is never a good thing. I've seen this guy on HBO and he was pretty good. I don't know how anyone can take the bible "literally." He's right, the bible is the story of the Jews not the Christians. Christians just "adapted" it for their use. All you need is the Golden Rule and the ten commandments anyway. I'm not going to live my life on what some old guys said a couple of thousand years ago. And, in all religions the "connection" to God is dubious at best. Why does God only appear to Jesus, Muhammed (that sick fucker!), Moses etc. And they were always "alone" when they say they saw/ spoke to God. No witnesses! I mean if God REALLY wanted to talk to people why doesn't HE appear to everyone? You know like every 5 or 10 years? What is it stage fright or what? And why when questioned do they always say that God is wearing, "flowing white robes?" You mean to tell me that they don't have Hickey-Freeman business suits in heaven? You think God can't afford the best? I mean being the CEO of all CEO's why wouldn't God be wearing a "business" suit? Oh, they didn't have business suits 2.000 years ago, did they? And what is it with that "the meek shall inherit the earth" stuff anyway? Oh yeah? One question, "WHEN?" Guys with bad haircuts have been waving the bible in the air on TV for 50 some odd years now and nothing changes! Except for the size of their bank accounts! None of the things they're saying have come to pass! Now THAT's "Blind Faith" for you! That's the question I have for the bible, WHEN is all that stuff supposed to happen? "There shall be a great battle called "Armageddon!" "Oh yeah? And just WHEN will this battle take place? It's always "in the future" with these people! Gee, that really nails it down Pastor Pompous, you guys have been telling us that for 2,000 years now, do you think you could give us a fuckin' DATE so that we'll know that you aren't a fuckin' CHARLETON only after our money?" "Would that be fucking ASKING TOO MUCH?"

Not only that but it in down in the very history book that the bible has been changed. my other probem is that jesus goes from a lil boy to a grown as man in the space of one chapter. dogma had it right.there is a lot that has been left out to make people think they way they want us to think.. I'm sorry but if someone was following jesus that much when he was young someone wrote down what happened in Egypt

The OT is a part of Jewish scripture, but if someone is going to be a hypocrite, both OT and NT are equally useful for rationalizing and attempting to manipulate others. In fact, just about any scripture or sacred writing will do.

Oh of course Alum. hey i have had more scripture fed and thrown at me than i care to ever have done again. I found for myself something with no real set in stone doctrine no laws govering food, love marriage etc. Will I say its the perfect religion? For me yes for everyone no. My personall feeling is that christianity tries to get into ever niche and corner it can. Look at the show Xena. Perfectly good show until you get to the episodes dealign with Eli and 'The Way.' Nice epidsode but i could have lived without them

Other topics lewis brought up. The reason why gays havent gotten the rights they have been working and striving towards os because they don't have a champion for them in Congress and the White House. "The fact that we will never EVER attack North korea because they are the most evil people on the planet. The videos we ge from them are black and white. its not the film these people are so evil they have no color. And you don't fuck with that kind of evil. " He also brings up the Iraq Iran bit. Iraq= Evil Leader and supposed WMDs according to our cracker jack spy team Iran= Insane Evil leader with ACTUAL access to nuclear material that they are beginging to convert into some sort of a bomb they will put into a missle and 500 Iranians wil throw at us. He ties this in with cheney shooting his friend while hunting quail. Qauil hunter move in a straight line. As he made the comparrision Eyes are on Iran going '"IRAN IRAN IRAN" and then suddenly turnign and shooting to left and shouting, "IRAQ" the best part thoough is on immigrant, "How the Hell are we gonna catch 11 million poeple?"

Don't you guys get it?...The 'Holy Bible' as the 'christians' have it is, now read slowly..The Holy Bible (Title) The King James Version (sub text)...what is the key wordd here folks...Version.... At the very end...it reads (paraphrase) ..Thou shalt neither add to or take away from the Book. God said it, I believe it, That Settles It. is the end of all arguements where a christian is pushed to the wall. Research, research, know the era, the agenda of the time. CONTROL of the masses. Control of thought; stop any and all insurgency. Religon ruled the throne of that day, today corporations rule, again, religon is needed for control of the thought process. Who cares if this guy Jesus really was or not. That is not the focus. Anyone, who has nothing to offer anyone, can always be a preacher, waving the 'holy word' on high. And if all else fail..."it Is God's Will."

This thread will probably eventually head down the same path that nearly every single thread does that even mentions Christianity - one of scorn and fun-poking from non-Christians toward all who are. Whatever. It's pointless to attempt to debate people who refuse to respect your views. However, I felt the desire to repost this just to offer another perspective. Everytime one of these threads pops up, there are those who have an absolute inability to accept that sincere, intelligent, educated people can and do have faith. i have two college degrees, have always been a straight "A" student and voracious reader, and am currently preparing to go back to school for my Master's degree. i am not ignorant, unintelligent, or backward by any stretch of the imagination and i have read and studied the Bible and believe it. No, i don't think it's all literal, but i do believe it's the inspired Word of God. My faith can't be "explained away" by simply classifying me as some backward half-wit who hasn't read it and just doesn't know better. i don't make myself feel better about my beliefs/faith by bashing others, however. i don't have to ridicule those who are pagan, Buddhist, atheist or whathaveyou to feel more secure about what i believe. i'm not sure why others have to. i think everyone is absolutely entitled to believe or disbelieve whatever they choose to but why the need to constantly discredit believing Christians as ignorant and uneducated? i just don't get it [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m22.gif[/image]............slave luci

They are the ones that put the religon in a negative light and this goes for muslim as well

I love it when he's on "The Daily Show" and I've seen the performance the OP mentioned. He's very intelligent and witty and makes some dead-on observations. it better be because there are some things i take as a joke and this is not one of them. Liek i said I know a few SW personally and they are ok ppl to a point, but i do not above any other insult that can be thrown at me ; nigger whore lesbo freak etc take the satan worshipper thing as a joke. mainly because when other people hear that they then start thinking about animal sacrifices blood drink etc...
