Darch Chylde has been my online persona for nearly 2 decades, the name originally was created during play testing Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop in atlanta sometime around 1990... was originally Dark Child, quickly changed to use more archaic type spelling (i am a romantic at heart)

for a long time, this name suited me perfectly; as many around me would comment on the darkness within me and i have been cursed/blessed with the babyface syndrome

now, i don't know how much it fits; not that i'm a beacon of light, but i'm generally not as dark as i once was; but as to the child part, i think i am more youthful than i've been in the past... just ask Ma'am, i'm often like a little kid, or is it kitten? oh well

Several years ago, a friend asked me to spy on her husband who she thought was cybering so I had to come up with a screen name.  In what seemed like seconds, I made up "imth1uwant."  On irc, I use "imth14u."  People think I'm 14.  LOL   When I joined cm, I wanted to come up with a sn that showed my submissiveness.  Thus, "all4yourplsr" was born.

Let's see, My mother's name is Dommenique and my father's is Dom corleone, I was raised by them as well as my GrandDomi......Yadda yadda yadda I'm Domiguy.

I wish  I could pull up the original thread...It would be convenient for moments like this.

i got mine from a movie i was in. The character name was Butchy and then i just added my favorite number from sports 14. And then i became butchy14

I really like hearing all these stories.  They are so interesting.  If I may say, many have asked me about my name: FleurduSang.  It is something of an online persona for me that I've had for a while.  Interestingly enough, it was originally a part of an e-mail account I made for my little sister (who was Goth at the time).  It has become an emblem for me, though.  FleurduSang is French: the literal translation would be, "Flower of the Blood."  To me, it is an interesting juxtoposition: the daintiness and life of a flower...how it smells sweet, how it is pleasant to see...and yet also the symbolism of blood, giver of life, vision of death, a product of bliss and cruelty.  It seems appropriate, and I always wonder at how it becomes more appropriate as I grow.

Jacob was the name that for some reason fits me better. (I have no idea why) T.H.M. In homage to an old favorite of mine Jhonen Vazquez, creator of JTHM. Yeah, this name goes waaaaaaaaay back.

I tend to go for descriptive names for myself, to sort of clue the person in before even reading...   Not that most actually read. [:D]    M

Fair enough, but the problem is we see ourselves as we want to see ourselves. Someone who is anorexic for example will have a s/n that misght say eatstoomuchslut or some such nonsense. However she ,in real life would get blown away in a gust of wind.

As a side question; If a picture is worth a thousand words, and our s/n's are our depictions of ourselves what are they worth?

Agh, too much coffee makes me think too much!.
