Ok- in case you are low income and in the US. there is a program known is a family savings account. i am on this program. do a google search to locate one near you. anyhow- over the span of 2 years- you deposit $10 or $20 a week into it. meanwhile you attend 4 financial training seminars. at the end of 2 years- they match 2k to the 2k you deposited.

my complaint is- they keep cancelling the seminars- so even tho im particapating- i wont have the 4 seminars!!!

oh- the funds then can only be used to buy a house, go to school, or start a business. home improvements are ok they told me.

the idea is they "taught" you to save money....

I assume you have to deposit the money with them, or am I way out of line here?

I doubt it is a scam. the local office of human resources manages it in my area.

well, then they are much plenty fucked, save the ads and the cancellations and if they can't get 4 together in the time allotted, see the commissioner of your state.

so do they take some kinda cut or is this just cause they are hell of a swell fellers or what?

no- it is government grant money.

they also are knowed as IDAs and FSAs.

OHR is a nonprofit entity, you will find carreer link- ad nauseum there- job training, seeking- this type of thing.

some may criticise such use of money= but at least it isnt a 12,ooo$ toilet seat for the pentagon.

if you drop from middle class to -- lower class- one has to be a wiz at co-ordinating what programs to apply for.  i made a list- as to the most valueable- to the least valueable. shot at the top and worked my way down.

consider this. you can only have 2k to get medcaid and food stamps.

so- i mentioned this to those people. they have now ironed that out- so those funds do not apply.
