I am so tired of hearing this.  I have worked (in the not too distant past) for $8.00 an hour.  Both of My grown daughters have worked for $8.00 per hour.  One in an office, the other in a pre-school as a pre-school teacher.
I too worked for $8.00 an hour not too long ago (1967)
 
 
 
I know many people who work for between $8 and $10 per hour. 

At nearly $4 per gallon how do they get to work...When a modest twenty year old tract house cost a half million where do they live?
 
 
I really become insulted every time I hear that this is not a living wage and that American's are too good and won't work for this wage.  They do it every day, thomsonx. So please stop spewing this elitist crap.

I am not trying to fight any of your battles.  I am only trying to find a way to get illegal aliens out of my country.
My solution is to lock up the heads of the corporations who hire them.  To confiscate the assets of those companies and their corporate officers in much the same way that the authorities go after dope dealers.

You admit to meeting and dealing with illegal aliens?  Why didn't you have them arrested?  How did you verify that they were illegal?  Are you suggesting that they be compelled to work for less than $10 per hour?

You and I both know it is the employers responsibility to withhold taxes so who is fucking whom?
Your extrapolation suffers a bit from your math.  if someone is making $10 an hour how did you get to $15?  If you were to look at your daughters paycheck which you say is $8 check her deductions to correct your math.
 
 
 Very few of the illegals are earning $8 per hour or less.  In fact, a previous post on this very thread referred to contractors hiring someone for 8 hours who would be happy with $100 for the day.
Are you really suggesting that a post on cm actually represents what illegal aliens are paid?
