Was just posting again in general discussion thread over fetish club and smoking ban.
It really gets pretty boring to see or hear people ranting and raving over smokers. People been smoking for long time. And worse yet... they want to blame their troubles on smokers. Not everything else they're breathing in.... no.. it's JUST SMOKERS. Well I say... ppppffffttttttt.
I personally know 3 people who grew up in NON smoking house holds. Who didn't hang around smokers. And never smoked themselves. Well, 2 are dead from lung cancer.... because of the CHEMICAL plants they worked in. And 1 has lung cancer and they do not know why. Even the doctors refuse to blame it on 2nd hand smoke.
There are way too many people floating around with breathing problems like asthma and bronchitis... who do not live in smoking houses or ever smoked themselves. Hell my own ex father in law quit smoking over 67 years before he died of lung cancer at the age of 97. He didn't allow smoking in his house or around him either. It's not caused only by cigarettes...and 2nd hand smoke.
Take a look around at some of the other things around you. While pumping gas in your car... you sniffing the fumes.... while you pour oil in your car.. you sniff the fumes... while you put chemicals on your plants to protect them... you are sniffing fumes.... while you clean your house... you are sniffing fumes. People fill their houses with potpourri... it simmers and sends small smoked filled fragrances thoughout the room. Other perfer insence... that sit there smoking.. filling the room with a fragrance of their liking. They're all chemicals!!
You're told to wash your fruits and veggies because they're sprayed with chemicals to keep weeds and bugs out of the gardens. They spray chemicals on tobacco plants to do the same thing. But washing tobacco is just a little harder to do than say your apple or grapes.
Lets go a step further to your own personal usages..... BBQ grills... those little black bricks of charcoil... what the hell do you think is being burned off them? Don't like using the bricks...and use gas or propane?... what is that smell you smell when you strike up a grill... CHEMICALS.... don't use that... ok.. how about wood... MOST use a fire starter.... lighter fluid...what ever... hello... another chemical!
We live in a world where chemicals are everwhere... even in the prefumes and colognes most wear... made from chemicals and oils with chemicals.
And to sit back and bitch about someones smoking a measly cigarette to close to you.... is hogwash. As I've stated, I too do not like to smell someones cigarette while I eat either...so I choose to sit in non smoking when I go out to eat. Or if sitting in a smoking section... I still won't light up while the people i'm with are smoking. I wait till i'm out the door. Or seated in my car. It's called respecting others... but at same time... still being free to make me own choice here about my smoking. It's a choice I am making. Just like it's a non smokers choice to be seated in non smoking sections of same resturant.
I personally can't stand the smell of someones cigar and or pipe. But i'm not going to ask them or tell them i'm offended by it and put it out.(Unless it's in my house) It's their right to smoke as it is mine a cigarette. I just relocate my own self away from their smoke. Just like a non smoker can do.
Both my parents have quit smoking. And when i'm at their house... my ass is outside when I want a smoke. No matter the weather. And yes mom knows that is why I do come over all that much. But when I am there... it's my choice... no smoke.. or out side. When they come over to my house... I go out side to smoke. While they're here. When I lived in another state... I always made sure my house was cleaned before they came to visit and no smoking in house for week prior to their visit. Out of respect for my parents. But they also knew if they popped in outta the blue.. they were on their own with that. But I still smoked outside.
And of course with both of them being former smokers... OMFG.. they're worse than those people who have never smoked!
If people do not like to sit a room filled with smoke... let them keep their asses out of there!... go somewhere else that caters to their non smoking needs. Just like the smoker is going to the place that caters to their smoking habit.
Yes... non smokers have a right to not breath in 2nd hand cigarette smoke....and smokers have the right not to listen to non smokers bitching about them smoking all the damn time. Damn non smokers should be happy that they already managed to take away a smokers rights to smoke and enjoy a beer and game of darts or pool with their smoking friends. Just so it doesn't offend their sensative little noses or lungs. When if they're that sensitive.. they shouldn't of entered into that place of business to begin with knowing full well it was going to be smoked filled to begin with. Oh then you got the ones... but I like to hang with my friends... drink... play pool and darts too... but we're non smokers... well hell...ya can't have it both ways. We have... a place here in my town that was opened up to minors to hang in... who wanted to play pool...darts... video games... NON SMOKING... it had/has more adults in there than minors. So they changed it to an adult hang out and sold beer. And that was before the ban was brought in. It's called getting someone to cater to others needs as well as the ones they're catering to already. But most prefer to just bitch about things and not try to get things done. They always expect someone else to do it for them.
Ok fine.. the non smokers won on that. Instead of getting places to cater to them... they got someone to give them what they wanted. A ban on smoking damn near anywhere now. And that includes ones own home. And yes I'm talking about the woman whom lost custody of her kids to ex because he was and is a non smoker...and though she smoked outside the home.. he didn't want his kids in her home because she smoked period. So some STUPID JUDGE took her kids from her and gave them to that self centered ass hole. She compromised... he wouldn't. Once again... stupidity running amoke.
There's been other cases in the news too over smoking parents. Stating kids can't make a choice. Not gonna argue that either. When my girls were babies.. I smoked in the house... not their rooms... not their play rooms... not a kitchen table either. But I did smoke in the house. Neither one of my kids are sick or have breathing problems. I grew up in a home where both parents smoked..... three kids did... none of us have breathing problems. But back then... they weren't spraying chemicals all over the tabacco fields like they are today either.
Situation with kids and this subject are a different story. Everyones got their thoughts on that for sure. This rant is based more on the adult side... not the kids. So i'm not even gonna go there. But i'm sure others will... because they'll feel it's imput needed. It's not the matter of if they... being the kids or not have the choice... but the parents choice of either smoking or not smoking around their kids. I got friends who smoke outside and not in the house because of their kids.. got no problems with that... i respect that and do the same when visting. I take it upon myself NOT to smoke in other people's houses with kids... even if they smoke. because that's the parents choice for their kids.. not mine. I just won't do it... because I do not feel the need to have someone elses kids breathing in my smoke ..... because it's MY choice... not their parents. Specially if that parent IS smoking around their youngins.
Ok.. i'm done ranting... damn I hate getting this passionate about something.....
